Hey every body been a while since i've posted here, but i finally can afford to try to mod 360's lol. Any way i bought a xeno top gear for my 360 but unfortunately for me i am so far behind the game i can't seem to find any videos or tutorials on how to use it to flash my drive. I need two tutorials, first on how to update an already modded firmware, and another for flashing the firmware on a virgin drive. MAybe one day i will have the money to start modding before all the tutorials are dead but untill then that's what i have this great sight for. Thanks for any help guys.
Do you plan on playing on xbox live with this console? If so, I would recommend not flashing it because it will get the console banned from xbox live. _________________________________________________________

Tear137,
Well its pretty easy to flash etc but like darth has mentioned there is no point if you are planning on taking the modded xbox 360 onto xbox live since it will be banned..
Yeah i'm still going to do it. I have a backup 360 for live events and downloads.
After reading the tutorials i got a pretty good idea of how to do this, and with jungle flasher it shouldn't be too hard. But where i get confused is with the hitatchi drives they have to be in mode B, which the xeno top gear does automatically, but the other drives need to be in vendor mode... Is that the same thing? Or rather does anyone know if the xeno top gear will automatically put other drives in vendor mode? Thanks again.

If your computer has a sata port on the computer it self just hook that dvd drive right up to it and go through the process on jf make sure you have the latested Jungleflasher 1.70 and there 1.70 tutorial.
It allows me to take the dvd drive out so i can just set the 360 to the side and allows me to flash it easy and painless. If you going to also do lite-on drive 7xxx version then you will also need the probe. I think total was $45.00
U can also use the Xecuter Ck3 Pro or Lite Versions to they are more but work same.
On ebay they have some off brand ones that are only $29.99 that i know a few members here have got and work just as fine and some come with the hd device to hook up your hard drive to your computer too if you wanted.
I dont know much about that you are using. But if your going to be flashing a lot of consoles then it will be a pain in the but. But if your flashing just yours. Follow the tutorials that we have listed or you can go to there website http://www.xenotopgear.com/ and they should have some type of tutorial out there for you to use that is pretty straight forward. _________________________________________________________ The one the only Scarface!!

Ok now i'm running into the technical parts that i know very little about. I found a very detailed pdf document tutorial on how to flash 360 drives but i can't get past one of the first steps. I can't get my drive into Vendor mode for nothing. I have the 360 apart obviously, then i connected the sata cable to my 360 drive, then i power on the pc and the 360, then i open the 360 trey then unplug the dvd power lead then close the drive half way and plug the powr back in ( have a benq preflashed with 1.51 firmware and that's what the tutorial says to do) But it does not work. When i open jungle flasher it says no drive detected rather then in vendor mode. I have windows 7 OS, no external video card, i'm using the sata cable from the main dvd drive in my pc. I've read the q's and a's and common problems but i cannot figure this out. I then went ahead and insttalled the Xeno Top Gear which was simple, and then when i connected the sata to it and turned on the 360 it causes my pc to freeze, so i checked to make sure it was installed correctly and it was, and still not in vendor mode...I mean this seems so simple on paper, what am i missing? thanks again guys.

New problem.. Now my computer freezes when i turn my 360 on.. I cannot have the 360 on when i boot the pc cause it freezes when it tries to load windows.. I can boot the 360 after the computer is already started, and it freezes for a minute then it stops, but when i open jungle flasher it says my drive is not detected, so when i search for my drive none of them show the pdbs or what ever t is supposed to show under drive properties and one of the drives i picked sent me to a blue screen with a warning about windows. I need help... lol

uninstall and reinstall the SATA drivers (the ones which come with jungleflasher)..
Do you have a SLAX linux disc.. Thats the only way i have ever put a hitachi into vendor mode. I would have thought that jungleflasher could do this for you.. mmmm, weird..
