The United States of America will have a new president January 20th, 2009.
without getting into the massive political debate that I know will ensue after this is posted i must say this:
I feel priviledged to be alive in a time like this.
How we as a country have come from just 40 years ago not allowing minorities to vote or even use the same bathroom as whites to have an african american president is amazing to me.
Unless your like me, that thinks obama is a hack. But what do I know, the rest of the public seems to like him so whatever... _________________________________________________________

i know he has no political experience. no foreign policy experience. i know this.
that wasn't the point of the topic. This topic was about the idea of how far we have come as a country. as a unified whole electing this situation. its not like obama skated by, he won by, what i consider, a landslide. America as a whole wants change.

I don't like him personally. With my opinion out of the way, I do feel privileged to be alive to see this stuff go down. I'm eager to see what will happen tomorrow. _________________________________________________________

Lets start off with my opinion.
Obama: He had the credencials to run, he got on the ballet, people voted, He won.. Congratulations to him..
===========================================
Obama's fuel policy: He said in his inaguration speech he wants to use alternative sources to get away from foreign oil.. Solar, wind, Earth....How do you think the "Oil families" liked to hear him say this?
He is a young President that did not grow up in an "oil family" and promises a cleaner more efficient America. He wants
state-of-the-art technology in schools.
=============================================
Now his views are very nice. Remember how can we believe what the president has to say when Congress is really the ones who have the say so in what passes as a bill? How can we get out of this economic worry when congress Controls their own pay rate? How can big CEO's make $10+ Million Dollars/ yr. and pay the common people minimum wage and cut jobs while expecting people to buy things when we have no money.
The government needs to Cap their own pay, Cap Ceo's pay and add that to the people's fund to help out the American economy instead of taxing the crap out of us to the brink of Recession/////

I definitley feel privaledged to be around the time for change and showing alot more equality but what I hate is not just from 1 race but the fact that everyone is putting so much pressure for him to do soo much. This is why I say this, 1st off it will take maybe 10 years before something really changes and it's not his fault at all. The President does not have 100% power or else this would not be a democracy. So therefore, if he wants to change something it must go through congress first and there is no guarentee it will be apporved. 2nd, They're putting so much pressure on him due to the fact of the color of his skin and nobody should ever be judged by that. Reason why is because say he doesn't really get to do everything he promised? Well now ever race will come down on the black race as a "I told you so" kind of deal. I say let him get in there and do his job. Stop putting so much Media Press on the guy and let him get to work and see what happens. They follow his kids around like they're some superstars with fashion sense about everything (a freakin hour special on what they wore seriously people, this is insane). They needa let these people live and do their job. I'm extremely happy that it's obviously giving hope to another culture that yes even you can have a president but what the media is doing is setting up disaster if something goes wrong. Just hope he is able to switch around this country and get us back on track. _________________________________________________________ The Burninator...

Agreed.... Add to the list:
1- We should stop policing the world, or acting as though we care to access needed sources of energy IE: oil. This may even calm the countries who hate us. Why the hell would we want to inject our views to countries who have been in Holy Wars since the beginning of time is beyond me..... I was under the impression we were FOR freedom of religion?????
2- Raise Tariffs into Country.....DRASTICALLY, there by raising demand of internal goods to create jobs/help restore economy. Would this not in turn make the $ stronger by far in world economy, making it worth while for countries to continue trade? Then Ill sign your plan
But what the hell do I know.... Logic has no place in Politics _________________________________________________________ XENIUM ICE 300GIG CUSTOM DVD
