Hey, guys. Some of you might recognize me from posting at Xbox-HQ, but most of you won't. I just ordered my 360 off of ebay. Got a premium system for $470 USD, which isn't really great, but not as bad as a lot of people are paying I guess.
To commemorate this special occasion, I had a couple hard-core newbie questions to ask you guys.
- I'm a lifetime member to Xbox-hq. I don't suppose that carries over to this site, too? I know forahobby made it so we can use the same logins, but I was just wondering about things like downloads and such if/when they become available. Oops, I see that it still says VIP Lifetime. Nevermind this question then.
- The Premium system has the HD cables, I believe. I think the TV in my living room is HD Ready, but we don't have HDTV per se. Am I going to have to run out and get a regular AV cable to use it on normal TV, or does it also include the standard cable?
- Does the 360 really damage discs like I heard it does? If so, any quick fix to prevent this?
- Other than the crap that comes with the Premium system, what other accessories do you guys recommend? I know next to nothing about 360 stuff.
- Streaming from your PC... I've heard a bit about it, and something with Media Center or Media Edition... I have no idea what that means...
Thanks for any help, guys, and I look forward to seeing you on Live! [/b]

Easy just take the Red, White and Yellow cables from the Composite cable and plug them into the supplied scart adapter and away you go! .
Just like the current Xbox or similary take those 3 cables and insert them into an AV socket.
WOW! Have you seen so many typos

Thanks, XboxXXX.
I've done a bit of research over the past couple days (not much else to occupy me while I wait for the UPS truck...), and I think I understand a lot more about things 360 related.
After further investigation, the TV upstairs isn't HD, and I can't even imagine it being HD ready, whatever that is. I'm thinking it's an EDTV, and either the salesman who got my mom to buy it was fibbing a bit, or she just got confused when she bought it.
I'll eventually end up getting either an HDTV or an LCD monitor to play with, but for now I'm too poor (especially considering I've bought 3 games already and will be getting another one by the time I actually get the system!) to get one, so I'll just have to deal with the lower image quality.
What kind of displays are you guys using? And does anyone know where I can get a good 360ing TV/monitor for an amazing price?
I'd like something in the 20" to 24" area (or higher if available) for around the $500 or below. 720p preferred, but if it's a CRT, I guess I can deal, but it's gotta be a big mofo then.
Thanks!

2. Get 3 extra wireless controllers, 2 recharge kits, 2 rechargeable batteries and DOA4 arcade stick.
All in all you should have: in my opinion
* 4 wireless controllers all with rechargeable batteries
* 2 play and recharge kits
* DOA4 arcade stick
Thanks
