My Friend at work has come up with a possible reason why some people have been banned and others havnt. He has noticed that some of his mates have been banned whilst some people like me and him havnt. The only thing which seems to match between the bannings is that people who have been banned have their profile saved to the hard drive where as others have it saved to a memory. Me and him both have our profiles on the memory cards where as his friends who got banned have all had theirs on the hard drive. Just a thought.

Mine profile has been saved to my hdd since I 1st hacked my f/w and still not banned. Heres a guess...
Ever think m$ could bann the people on the forums stating that they have a hacked f/w? I don't think they could actually do that because some people could just lie and get banned. I don't believe my thoughts but you never know.
Could also be that some people are logging onto xbox live with a older stealth firmware and those are now detected? _________________________________________________________

lol i think that would be the easiest way for people to get caught out good point... ive heard of people this weekend being unbanned btw because microsoft havnt been able to prove they had firmware hack (this must have been people who claimed to have been banned for having played rock band early) i guess we wont know but i imagine with the update coming theres gonna be another big haul of bannings. If i get banned im not too arsed ive taken the risk and willing to pay the consequences. I will quite happily use my banned xbox for playin offline and go buy and elite to play my online games no real hardship at all. I would imagine that in most cases that it is people have either not patched the game properly when theyve burnt it or they have older firmware yes. However i have heard of a few people who have had the newest firmware of ixtreme banned. Dont think we will know at the moment could be possible that microsoft are banning randomly people with firmware mods so that its impossible to pinpoint what it is thats causing it and find a way round it. I guess we will never know.....for a while

Alot of people are still on the ixtreme 1.2 like me and not get banned, probally has something to do with, messing with your f/w on a update, but some people are not banned and been using the 1xtreme 1.3 (hobbs) So at this point this like a needle in a hay stack guess.
By the way, the banning's from last wave and this wave are always around the 20th something of the end of the month. So end of each month I'm just gonna un-plug my LAN just to be safe.
Just my 2 cents,

or those people geting banned are playing there backups on live and if they are not stealth patched and all that then they can tell easy and those people that play these games early do have a chance to get banned but people can fight that because when halo 3 came out i had the game 1 week if not more early then the stores were going to sell them only reason being my friend is a manager at a game store. But still no one will really know yet how they are banning people but there is many possible reasons only a person at ms would really know lmao. _________________________________________________________ The one the only Scarface!!

Speaking of being banned from live, one of my friends told me that there was an update that killed ppls 360's if it detected it was modified in a way, i was just wondering if he herd some crazy rumor or if anyone else herd of this. _________________________________________________________

it is always possible that with every major update (such as the one coming up soon the fall one) then there is always a massive risk of being banned. I cant imagine that they can kill the xbox though. This would leave them in hot water i would reckon because at the end of the day you own the console. They can ban you from using their services that they offer but to make your console defunct would possibly be a breach of your own rights. Also someone would find a way round this if they killed it because it would only be a case of replacing whatever was destroyed which logically could only be the software.
However safest thing to do is find out when the date of the update is (3rd december i thnk this one) and just disconnect ur 360 from the net before the update and wait until its been deemed safe to play on again with the firmware.
To be honest as scarface said though its highly unlikely that if you make sure your backups are stealth patched and now im making sure they are all split vid aswell then you shouldnt have a problem. Ive not had a problem with it and neither has either of my mates who also have the same setup.
Saying that since the recent speight of firmware cracks i havnt actually been on live with a backup just the original games.
