Hi
Situation: I have an Xbox360 in my room along with a computer running XP which is connected wirelesslly to the internet. The modem and the router are downstairs and there is also another computer downstairs. Both the PC's are wirelessly connected with a wireless card.
Since I want to play XBL upstairs i bought a crossover ethernet cable which i have connected to the computer NIC card and than connected the other end to the xbox360. After that i bridged my wireless internet with the NIC and everything worked fine.
Problem: The Xbox360 cannot connect and i get an "IP Address" error.
I dont know what i did wrong. Help would be extremely appreaciated. I dont know if this helps or not but this is what i get when i do "IPConfig/all"
---------------------------
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : nima
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : DI-524
Thanks again...sorry if my post is long but i wanted to give you guys the full throttle of the problem...Thank You

Try giving your 360 the ip of the network card. Its under system, in network settings. Give it IP Address: 192.168.0.103
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1

Do you have anything else to test the connection?

um not that i know of, here maybe this will help.... i have a little computer icon that says im connected to the internet but when i right click on that and do properties, the "connection status" is blank so i dont see any IP address or default gateway or subnet mask even though im connected to the internet through a bridged connection right now. Sorry im kind of a newbie but does this have anything to do with the MAC address ?

Might be your crossover cable, usually you use those when bridging two connections together. Ie computer to computer, I think I've used a crossover cable in the past in a pinch, but the net speed for that pc was extremely slow. Do you have a reg cat 5 cable handy to test it?

oh man, it still does not work with any of the cables...
I cant enable ICS when i have a bridge so i deleted the bridge and tried to enable ICS but a new error comes up :
"An error occured while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. Internet Connection Sharing cannot be enabled. A LAN connection is already configured with the IP Address that is required for automatic IP addressing."
lol so many problems, by the way i greatly appreaciated this on-going help

Try disabiling your wireless connection, then re-enable it.
