I have a 360 and it reads dvds and music cds all the time and 360 games most of the time and I was wondering if doing the pot tweak would fix this problem? Also so it hasnt been flashed. Also when it doesnt read the game the message it gives me is To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console. Now my thought is, isnt that message on the disc. So it is reading the disc but for some reason it is thinking it is not in a 360. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

What drive is it? Samsung Hitachi? How long have you had the 360? If its under warranty your best bet is to ship it back im sure they will pay for everything.

It isnt under warranty and I just got it with this problem off Ebay. The drive is a samsung and I was told that with the new XBL patch it would make it work better. But I am trying to get a harddrive so I can get the patch.

Ok guys I have got good news. It seems that the vibration from the dvd spinning messes up the pot screw. Every tut that I found says it should read the first time at 3.4-4.0K ohms but when I checked mine it was at 10.3, so I set it to 6.1 and I have booted it 20-30 times with no error. So if you have the to play this disc, put it in a Xbox 360 conlsole error then this seem to be a fix. If I have any more problems I can still go as low as 3.0K ohms but as for now 6.1 is good for me lol.
