This Method of creating backup's of your games does require purchase of two DVD Drives and a couple of software downloads.
You will Need to know this along with the factory installed Firmware in order to Determine which Modified Firmware you will Need to allow your 360 to play the backup's!
The First thing you will Have to do is Open the Console to Find out what Firmware version your 360 DVD-Rom has preinstalled from the factory.
Once you Know your 360 DVD-Rom Model "Hitachi or Sammy" and the Factory Installed Firmware then we can guide you through the process on where to get updated firmware for your 360 DVD-Rom and how to install it!

hs anyone broken their 360/dvd drive by doing this?
I have an external dvd copier if that will work ?
also bought the xbox360 (see link in first post) without realising that the core console doesnt actually come with a hardrive? (bloody microsoft) So does this mean I will need to buy a hard drive or is it only used for saves and songs?
lets say my 360 doesnt have the right dvd drive? does that mean my 360 cant be flashed? hence selling it and being lucky buying another? _________________________________________________________

Correct, Without Homebrew for the 360 yet it is just for saves and songs and stuff. So you can play without the HDD, you might want to get Memory Card for saves though, unless you want to invest in a HDD which would make life much easier for your 360 Experience!

Currently ALL 360 Drives are Flashable! The Latest v78 Hitachi was the last Unflashable Drive Until Maximus Hooked us Up with His Firmware ToolBox v3.0 Software Program. Now the v78 Hitachi is one of the easiest flashes EVER!

Nope.. You need a SAMSUNG SH-D162C PC drive if you dont want to hotswap.. Once you install the SH-D162C PC drive you can flash the drive with kreon firmware so it enables the drive to backup xbox 360 originals.
