A free playable demo of Blades of Time is now available for download from Xbox LIVE, allowing you to check out the game before you decide to shell out all of that hard earned cash.
In Blades of Time, players don the persona of the gorgeous gunsword-wielding treasure hunter, Ayumi. Blessed with beauty and a trigger happy finger, she's on a mission to find lost bounties in a mysterious and dangerous island.
Experience Time-Rewind gameplay, allowing the beautiful sword-wielding heroine Ayumi, to turn back time and produce a clone of herself to help solve puzzles, tackle hordes of enemies and more! With a host of intriguing characters, monstrous fiends, eye-popping visual appeal, tons of treasure and a huge variety of combat skills to master, Blades of Time will satisfy gamers’ hunger for an entertaining yet deep action game, that even gamers new to the hack-and-slash genre will enjoy.
X-Blades is a third-person hack-and-slash action filled game being developed by Gaijin Entertainment and i figured why not take a closer look at this game since not much hype is getting out on this one so far.
X-BLADES STORY
Long, long ago, in an age that only the gods can now remember, the universe was ruled by two powerful beings that were revered and worshiped by all races - but the ?brotherly? relationship between these two creatures was always in question from the beginning of time, simply because no one knew who the real number 1 was. While the Enlightened was on the side of good, helping his people how and when he could, the Dark One was quite the opposite, full of hate and devilish works - and so the never-ending battle between the Enlightened and the Dark One persisted for centuries. Humans suffered terribly thanks to this constant combat between the two ? combat which shook the universe to its very core. Finally, thanks to a trick, the Enlightened succeeded in banishing the divine power of the Dark One, imprisoning it in an Artifact - but in doing so, the Enlightened lost his own divine powers, because the two divine beings were inseparably linked to one another. This is how two Artifacts came to be hidden in a huge Temple - and how the Enlightened prevented the downfall of the entire universe. However, these two artifacts contain total, absolute power - both good and evil. Any human being who comes in contact with the powerful stones will be horribly cursed - and the power of darkness will once again be awakened.

Due out for next-gen consoles and PC, in late 2008.
SouthPeak Games has announced X-Blades, a dynamic third-person hack-and-slash action title for next-gen consoles and PC, due for release in late 2008.
X-Blades sees players controlling an enchanting anime-style heroine who must battle through a host of locations using guns, blades, magic and a healthy dose of cinematic flair.
“The unique anime-style backdrop combined with high-octane, multi-discipline combat gameplay really pushes X-Blades into brand new territory,” said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. “The 3rd-person ‘hack-em-up’ genre needs a fresh perspective and X-Blades is poised to deliver it.”
X-Blades features a special combination of cinematic style, beautiful animation and relentless high-speed gameplay. Players assume the role of Ayumi, a stunningly seductive yet tenacious heroine who battles enemies with her pistol blades, acrobatic ability and magic spells. With full anime-style cut scenes, the story unfolds revealing demonic hordes and spectacular landscapes, all ripe for exploration and frenetic supernatural battling.
“We are big fans of anime and that was really our inspiration for X-Blades,” said James Seaman, Managing Director at Topware Interactive. “Our goal was to create stylistic characters and artwork and to mix that bombastic visual style with lightning fast action. The result is a killer title that gamers and animation fans won’t be able to put down.”
X-Blades will be released for next generation consoles and PC in late 2008.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare fans will be happy to know the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare patch is out and good to go.
Infinity Ward had the new features listed as so,
New Kill Cams
We’ve added new Kill Cams for everything. So now those “WTF!” grenades that seemingly come from no where, you can see that a guy threw it over the house, it hit a tree branch, bounced off a rock, into a tiny window, where you happened to be pointing out of, and say…… whoa. Follow behind RPGs and M203’s kill cams, claymores, Airstrikes where you can follow the bomb from the plane until it hits you.
Host Migration
Now you won’t have to be dropped back by yourself when a host leaves. Instead, everyone will stay together, a new host will be assigned, and the game will auto-start back up. Keeping everyone together, no more re-inviting, re-joining games because some host leaves. This has been a tall order and something that we’ve put a lot of work into which has allowed us to really optimize online play all around not just specifically with Host migration.
Improved Sniper / ACOG Accuracy
Sniper and ACOG scopes have been tweaked and are really improved. I use to not snipe at all (mainly because I’m a horrible sniper), but now it’s so much more fluid and natural, while still having the same difficulty to use, it has no more “WTF I know I hit that guy!” moments.
Upgraded Spectator Cam
Now when you’re in spectator mode you can follow them in 3rd person, switch to their first person view, or rotate the camera in a full 360 degrees around whoever you’re watching.
Quick Mute Option
Users will now be able to quick mute players on the fly by pulling up the scoreboard in-game or via the lobby by simply going to their name and hitting the mute assigned button. As quickly as calling in and designating an airstike. So no longer getting killed while trying to make your way through the Xbox blades for the mute option so you can shut up the guy who always seems to find it funny to sing into his mic or cover up for his lack of skill by telling you how to play Domination his way.
Just one more way for COD4 to stay at or near the top of the food chain with Halo and build bigger bank.
Infinity Ward Community Relations Manager, Robert Bowling announced that the new patch for the Xbox 360 has finished it’s testing stage and has officially been sent off to Microsoft for Certification.
The new Call of Duty 4 patch will have 5 new options that i have listed here.
New Kill Cams: now you get a better shot at who shot you.
Host Migration: Like COD3 when the host drops out the game gets handed off so your fun wont stop.
Improved Sniper / ACOG Accuracy: more and natural feel when playing as a sniper.
Upgraded Spectator Cam: in spectator mode you can follow them in 3rd person, switch to their first person view, or rotate the camera in a full 360 degrees.
Quick Mute Option: No more getting killed while trying to make your way through the Xbox blades for the mute option.
With all the new options added by this patch im sure COD4 will stay at the top of the list for a little bit longer, sorry halo fans.
