Next month’s Platinum Hits releases include critically acclaimed games from the industry’s leading publishers, including Activision Publishing Inc.’s “Call of Duty 2,” Electronic Arts Inc.’s “EA SPORTS™ Fight Night Round 3,” Ubisoft Entertainment’s “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter” and 2K Sport’s “Top Spin 2.” This lineup of Platinum Hits represents some of the best high-definition titles available on Xbox 360 at an appealing price.
Next month’s Platinum Hits release, starting at an estimated retail price of $29.99 (U.S.), will include the following titles in the Americas:
Gamers throughout Europe are able to pick up the following new Platinum Hits titles, launched earlier this month, for an estimated retail price of 29.99 euros:
“Platinum Hits not only lets gamers enjoy a broad portfolio of titles at an amazing price,” said Jeff Bell, corporate vice president of Global Marketing for the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. “It also ensures that existing and new gamers alike can get the most from their Xbox 360 by owning a great library of blockbuster hits. Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced the release of the long awaited single player demo for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter® 2 (GRAW 2), the follow up to the massively popular squad-based action franchise, and next gen smash hit of 2006. The new playable demo gives gamers just a taste of the explosive action, new features and amazing new graphics in GRAW 2’s single player campaign, well in advance of the game’s full release. The single player demo is available now for free download on the Xbox Live® Marketplace. Along with this exciting demo, Ubisoft is also pleased to release the full “Gimme Danger” trailer with the famous Iggy Pop and the Stooges song, now revisited by Frank Black and 3volution Productions, exclusively for GRAW 2. This trailer will rock you with the power of the song while showing the amazing variety of new environments and rich gameplay.
Single-Player Demo content:
In the GRAW 2 single-player demo, which is set during the second mission of the game, Scott Mitchell must lead the Ghost team in Mexico to clean a rebel camp on the outskirts of the city of Juarez with the goal of destroying a number of objectives to open a breach for the allied loyalist Mexican army.
The player starts as a lone wolf, and then progresses through different levels, acquiring a number of new tools, weapons and abilities, such as commanding the Ghost squad and both the UAV Cypher and M.U.L.E support drones. All of these tools fall under direct player control, thanks to the new Cross Com 2.0, which allows precise control of these latest marvels of military technology.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter® 2 is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system and Games 4 Windows® in March 2007, with the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system version scheduled to release in June 2007.
Ubisoft's most recent financial report has handed Microsoft an unexpected New Year surprise...
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 has slipped out of the developers release schedule for this fiscal year on the PS3 - handing the Xbox 360 a timed exclusive over its next-gen rival!

Set to hit our vanilla machines on March 9, the PS3 version of GRAW 2 will not appear before that months end (as Ubisoft's fiscal year concludes on March 31). And as of yet, there is no confirmed release date for the title on Sony's behemoth looking further ahead into 2007 - will this lead stretch over days, or months?
In a period where the Xbox 360 is starting to kick up its heels in the race for home console glory, this delay does not bode well for Sony. Especially when you factor in their underwhelming exclusive games on the PS3 thus far.
Remember, there is still the single player demo of GRAW 2 to look forward to. Find out more about that here, but first tell us why you think this delay may have come about and debate any likely impact it will have in the comments box below.
Editors Note: It appears that Gamestop now has the PS3 Version listed for a June 2007 release, it looks to be a 3 month delay. - Sjohn
