Ken Levine announced today that Irrational Games previous 3 years absence from the market has been due to work on their sequel to the original hit title known as Bioshock. If you never played the original game or Bioshock 2, you definitely should check the games out. It blends first person shooting style action along with plenty of RPG elements like collecting and power ups known as plasmids.
The sequel coming sometime next year (2011) will take a stark departure from the land that we have become to know oh so well. This time we are not visiting Rapture again, but a new city by the name of Columbia, this city is miles above Rapture, not only in polish and visual style but quite literally as it's floating in the sky!
Many plot twists and new plasmids await those who join the new protagonist. The sequel is departing quite a bit from the original game, but in what we hope is only good ways. You now play an actual character, and not a cypher who is unaware of his own identity. "You are Booker Dewitt, a particular character with an established history, with a voice you will hear as he talks to himself and others in the game." - Ken Levine
It was also mentioned that the city is popular and also hopefully populated with quite a few new friendly faces, and of course where would a game like this be without some type of big baddie that you are trying to take down?

For the first time in over two years, Xbox is at the number one spot for the most consoles sold! Xbox 360 sold over 422,000 units according to analyst group NPD for the month of February. Wii managed to get to the number two spot and sold over 397,900 units. PlayStation 3 sold 360,100 units and suprised many. Most people thought that PlayStation 3 was going to lead console sales in the U.S. market but Xbox 360 managed to lead sales in the short 28 days of February.
Last month January 2010 Nintendo Wii was the best selling console with total units sold 465,000. Although the overall numbers were down this month, Xbox really surprised us all with taking over to the number one spot.
BioShock 2 was recently released for the Xbox 360 and sold over 562,900 units. The game was released on February 10th. Xbox is back in business and this was the break they needed in the gaming industry in 2010. While BioShock 2 helped boost overall sales, I don’t think that was the main reason for the spike in sales for the console.
While this numbers only represent the US Market, in other parts of the world Xbox 360 was not in the number one spot.
