Following the climatic conclusion of Alan Wake, a new downloadable content is now upon us taking players into another nightmare that they must survive. The Signal DLC is the first of the few downloadable content that Remedy Alerts have planned to release on Alan Wake before the sequel comes out in a couple of years. Offered as free download for anyone who purchased the Limited Edition of Alan Wake, we now delve into the Signal DLC and experience an unforgettable nightmare.
Alan Wake The Signal DLC will be released this July 27th on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Those gamers who still have their voucher code on hand can redeem it at the day of release.
The Nightmare Continues
Without spoiling the ending of the story, the Signal takes Alan Wake to just after the climatic conclusion of the game. Just after the defeat of the Dark Presence, Alan Wake finds himself into one of the dreams that he must survive if he wants to find out the truth. With the help of Thomas Zane, he will be helping Alan Wake get out from his horrible nightmare by guiding him with the GPS that Alan found in the game. Through the Signal that Thomas Zane gives Alan, he must find it before something happens to him. For fans who loves the story of the main game, the DLC continues just after the end of the main game.
New Collectibles
Tired of collecting Manuscripts and Thermoses? In the Signal DLC, players will no longer need to hunt for those two things from the main game. As the Signal DLC shows Alan in a nightmare, what Alan needs to find this time are ten alarm clocks and standees. Upon collecting all of them, achievements will be revealed. Finding all of them is possible in one playthrough but expect to spend time searching every inch of Bright Falls and the Dark Place.
Decent Length
For a DLC, The Signal offers a decent length. I logged around two hours of playing through the game under Normal difficulty. The DLC offers the same experience as the one in the main game, the controls are the same, and weapons are scattered throughout Bright Falls. To get the weapons and tools to survive in this one of hell of a nightmare, Alan must uncover the words from the story that he’s working on that are scattered. It might sound confusing but all will make sense when you play it. I don’t want to spoil much the story for you.
New Achievements
There are a total of eight achievements that can be unlocked in the game. Half of them can be unlocked by just finishing the episode, and the other half will require a little bit more challenge. The total of Gamer Score that fans can achieve are 250 Points. Finding all of the Alarm Clock and Standees are one of the requirements to get two of the four achievements. The other achievements are objective such as finishing the final boss in an minute and a half.
Alan Wake has some new DLC on the way. Titled "The Signal", the new DLC will allow players to continue on with their Alan Wake adventure even further. It's free for players who have purchased a brand new copy of the game, but, everyone else will be paying 560 MS points.

Bright Falls, the chilling live-action film prequel to Alan Wake, premieres exclusively on April 25th on Xbox LIVE and at BrightFalls.com on April 27th.
Microsoft hopes TV fans will find this six-part series evokes the same ghostly chills as Twin Peaks did when it premiered 20 years ago this month. Shot on location in Oregon, Bright Falls is directed by Philip Van, whose short films have won over a dozen awards in festivals including the Sundance Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival and more. Bright Falls also features notable actors such as Tom Noonan who recently appeared on FX's Damages, and Cooper Huckabee who joins the cast of HBO's True Blood this season.
Alan Wake is a bestselling horror writer. Early on in his career, his fiancée was his muse. Just prior to meeting her, he had started to see strange dreams which he used as material for his first book. The book was a big success, a dream come true. But then Wake’s fiancée vanished without a trace. Wake was devastated. He couldn't write anymore, his dreams stopped and he began to suffer from insomnia. At the beginning of the game, Wake travels to a sleep clinic to seek treatment for his condition. The secluded clinic is located near the small town of Bright Falls, Washington, far away from the stressful urban lifestyle. Receiving treatment at the clinic, Wake is able to sleep again. At the clinic, he meets a mysterious woman who is the very image of his missing fiancée, uncannily so. At once, his dreams return, this time as terrible nightmares. Wake begins to write again: a new book based on those nightmares. But something is horribly, horribly wrong. Impossibly, the town of Bright Falls starts to change to something awful that bears a close resemblance to Wake’s new book. Wake ends up fighting for his life with a gun and a flashlight in his hands, trying to understand what’s happening.
