Electronic Arts announced today that 3 on 3 NHL® Arcade - an all-new downloadable experience from EA SPORTS - is in development at EA Canada by the team that produced the critically acclaimed NHL 09. 3 on 3 NHL Arcade is a no rules, fast paced, hockey experience that gamers of all types can enjoy.
This fresh take on the NHL Hockey franchise will be available as a download in February 2009 on Xbox LIVE Arcade for 800 MS Points.
“Available through a simple digital download, 3 on 3 NHL Arcade is perfect for sports fans who want to experience the thrill of NHL hockey at a great value without worrying about the rules of the sport,” said Dave McCarthy, vice president, EA SPORTS. “Accessibility is really important. We have worked to make sure that come February, 3 on 3 NHL Arcade is a lot of fun for players of all skill levels.”
With fast paced action, crushing hits and loads of room to experiment, 3 on 3 NHL Arcade will have gamers from all walks of life excited about hockey. With no rules to hinder the action, deliver devastating checks that send your opponent over the boards and watch as he has to skate back onto the ice. If the goalie comes out of his crease to play the puck, check him. Exaggerated player-looks take center stage with 40 of the top NHL stars, representing every team, skating around the miniature rink. With game-changing power-ups falling on the ice throughout each session, serious is not the name of this game. Fly down the ice with a super-speed skater, and beat a giant sprawling goalie with a trick move for that highlight reel finish. With two control schemes to choose from, players can pick between button controls that allow gamers of all skill levels to pass, shoot, hit and break out the all-new trick moves with ease, or the more advanced Skill Stick controls from NHL 09. 3 on 3 NHL Arcade also brings the online experience players have come to expect from EA SPORTS. In addition to standard ranked matches, 3 on 3 NHL Arcade allows the ability for three players on one console to play three other players on another console anywhere in the world.

So it looks like Konami’s posted a site up and its just a green code with the message "a next Metal Gear is…” and as always thats more then enough to get the net turning over speculation as to what it could stand for and some are already talking about it maybe being a hint that the game will be on the 360 soon.
So far i have not seen a single thing said by Konami or by Kojima about the odd site but then again if they wanted us to know right away they would have never put it in an odd little code, strange they picked a sort of Xbox green color to put the code in don't you think?
As always the HQ will give you all the facts and info as we find out more so hang in there guys.
Been some time since we have seen this game in the news but you can all rest easy knowing the game developers haven't forgot about it or you, and to prove the point here is a codemasters report giving you the full low down on this downloadable content thats available now.
CodeMasters reports: Today, we are pleased to announce the release of the new downloadable '8-ball' premium content pack for Race Driver:GRID.
Available on both the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3, the '8-ball' pack will set you back a mere 800 Microsoft points and £6.29/$9.99/EUR7.99 from the Playstation Network. News regarding when the PC DLC is coming out will be available soon.
New featured cars include the McLaren F1 GTR, TVR Cerbera Speed 12, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, Honda S2000, Nissan GT-R (S-G2008), VW Nardo, Pontiac Firebird Trans AM and the Volvo C30.
In addition to the cars, there are two new multiplayer events to compete in set on existing circuits from across Race Driver: GRID's three continents and designed to test drivers to their very limit online. On Xbox 360, the pack will also feature four new Achievements worth 25 points each to earn from four new competitive challenges including Jack Of All Trades, Drift Master, Gas Guzzler and Clean Passing.
THOSE “8 BALL” CARS IN FULL:
McLaren F1 GTR – The McLaren F1 GTR wrote itself into the history books as the only GT car to ever win Le Mans outright in the modern era and is considered one of the finest examples of automotive engineering in history.
TVR Cerbera Speed 12 – The TVR 12 smashes past 60 MPH in just under 3 seconds. Production models were planned, but they were considered too powerful to sell to the general public.
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X – For over a decade the Evo has been billed as a supercar slayer – now the Evo-X in GRID lets you unleash its sledgehammer aggression in the Pro-Tuned class.
Honda S2000 – This roadster is heavily modified for drifting and has become a cult-favourite thanks to its award winning engine.
Nissan GT-R (S-G2008) – One of the world’s hottest cars makes its debut in Race Driver: GRID in its fully tuned racing spec.
VW Nardo – This powerful concept car made real from VW uses its 600BHP engine to rocket to 60MPH in 3.1 seconds.
Pontiac Firebird Trans AM – The 1971 racing edition of this true American legend is a worthy addition to GRID’s exclusive group of muscle cars.
Volvo C30 – Adding to Race Driver: GRID’s touring car roster comes the C30, Volvo’s agile, cutting edge hot-hatch straight from the STCC grid.
ACHIEVEMENT CHALLENGES:
Jack Of All Trades – Win an online race in each of the 8 Ball pack cars.
Drift Master - Achieve a 99x combo in the Honda S2000.
Gas Guzzler - Clock up over 250 miles in your favourite 8 Ball pack car.
Clean Passing - Win a clean race in an 8 Ball Pack car from last position.
