Castle Crashers is an upcoming console video game independently developed by The Behemoth. Announced by The Behemoth during Comic-Con 2006, the game will be available for download with the Xbox Live Arcade service during the second quarter of 2007. As of now, the release date will not be until sometime after March 7, 2007.
This is the follow-up to The Behemoth's first title "Alien Hominid," which derived its gaming style after the Metal Slug games. Castle Crashers seems to be inspired by such sidescrollers incorporating z-axis movement of classic beat 'em up games like The Simpsons Arcade Game and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade games. The gameplay of this title is similar to that of Behemoth creator Dan Paladin's game Dad 'n Me.
As a feisty yet adorable alien, gamers must fend off FBI agents to ensure their spaceship stays safe.
