1. Disconnect the SATA cable from the DVD drive, while leaving the power cable from the 360 plugged in (Unless you have Xecuter's Connectivity Kit, which is STRONGLY recommended) connect a SATA cable from your computer to your Hitachi-LG drive, and power on your Xbox360, making sure it is in mode b.
If you don't know how to get your drive into mode b, then this section is for you.
There are three methods you can use, Slax Linux, The Two Wire trick, or Xecuter's Connectivity Kit.
Slax Linux:
A) Download the special Xbox 360 Hitachi-LG Mode B distribution of Slax Linux (Im not sure if I can post the link here, but a little googling will help you find it) Burn it to a CD, put it in your computer's disk drive, turn off your computer.
B) Now, turn on your Hitachi-LG DVD Drive, and turn on your computer. If the Slax disk does not startup and your computer just boots to Windows, restart your computer, but press the Del key while it is booting up. Go to Standard CMOS Features and change the Primary Boot Device to CDROM, make sure to remember what it was before you changed it, and save the changes.
C) If done correctly, Slax Linux will startup and output some text that tells you that your Hitachi-LG is in mode B
D)Restart your computer without cutting power from the Hitachi-LG Drive
Two Wire Trick:
A) Unplg the power cable from your Hitachi-LG Drive
B) Get two wires
C) Put one wire in the pin 9 hole and one in the pin 0 hole
D) While these wires are in those holes, plug in the power
E) Cross the two wires
F) Power on the DVD Drive and after a few seconds, uncross the wires
G) If done correctly, the green LED light in the front of the 360 will be flashing on and off
Xecuter's Connectivity Kit Method (Recommended)
A) Connect the Xecuter Connectivity Kit to a power cabel on your comuter and to your Hitachi-LG Drive.
B) Depress the pogo button next to the LED light on the Connectivity module
C) Turn on your computer
Alright, once you have your Hitachi-LG in modeB, start up your computer in Windows mode
If it freezes on the Windows loading screen, reset your computer (While the power to the Hitachi-LG remains on) and while Windows is booting, eject your Hitachi-LG drive
If it works, but you don't see your disk drive, you probably lost power to your Hitachi-LG and it is back in mode A.
If you do see it, good, now you need to download Birdy's Hitachi-LG Friendly Flasher (You can find it using bittorrent)
Run the flasher, it will create a backup and flash your drive, make sure you have your Xbox360 drive selected
If it freezes, make sure you have no disks in your Hitachi-LG drive, then retry.
