All I know for sure, is that yes there will be a 3, and it is a prequel.
as far as game modes, 2 I would love to see in modern warfare 3 are 2 game modes that I loved in Rainbow 6 vegas.
TERRORIST HUNT.
This is a 2 to 4 player coop game mode. depending on the difficulty there can be up to over 30 AI terrorists in the map. The game starts with you and your buddies on one side of a map and you have to clear out the map and Find/kill all the terrorists. Some will come looking for you, others you have to try to go find as they camp. And the AI changes each time you play, they will not always go the same way each time. If you die you do not respawn, your guys must go on without you. game ends only when you are all dead or they are all dead. Team work really matters, if one of your team mates decides to go off a different direction is will change the AI behavior and cause them to flank you and screw you up. or if one of you fire your weppon at the wrong time you will get the AI all excited and start to rush you.
ESCORT
The other game mode I would like to see is escort. this is played online with 2 full teams. You will take turns on which team is terrorists and which team is protecting the VIP.
If you are terrorist, your team has only one goal to win the game, You have to kill the VIP before he gets to the safe spot all the way across the map. Everyone gets only 1 life in this game mode.
the escort team will have one player chosen at random by the game to be the vip. if you get chosen as vip you get only a single Pistole to protect yourself, you are also in civilian cloths, usually slacks, white shirt and tie. the rest of your team has full military gear, they have to keep you alive till you get to the save area across the map.
Would put up a video of this one but can only find videos of the story mission not the multiplayer team vip escort mode.
