http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Desktop-Solid-Hybrid-ST1000DX001/dp/B00EIQTOFY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1379209826&sr=8-4&keywords=1tb+ssd+hybrid

New technology is coming out I guess to where Seagate combined an SSD along with a HDD, the best thing about this is that it has the same boot time as an SSD or so they claim. I'm excited to try this hardware out. Oh and it's CHEAPER. ;D

1tb for $100 bucks? Come on.

Minus reliability I'm not so sure of course SSDs are more durable, I think I heard that SSHDs protect your files against power surges so say if you get hit in a storm you wont loose your OS or any files.

Actually it looks like this tech has been out a new while. It's still suppose to boot windows in less than 10 seconds which is why most people buy SSDs to begin with.

It's pretty amazing really how cheap these drives are now. I couldn't live without an SSD drive these days and good to know their not exactly expensive.

Yeah the big problem with SSD's is that the larger they are the less good they are. They need something to make up the 1TB plus needs.

So the Hybrid has extra technology i guess to make up for the SSD's flaws.. nice.

I shut my tower down when I'm not using it because it uses tons of electrons. The lights even dims when I turn it on lol

I prefer sleep mode.

But 1TB for a hundred bucks, and a new technology? whats the catch? That is a great price, I might pick one or two up just for the storage space.
