No it will not hurt lol. You can go to the link below and the BF3 Analyzer can run a check and see if your PC is up to par for battlefield 3. Im sure most of you here on 360-HQ are getting/playing it on Xbox, but if you were curious about your PC it can be just for fun.

Those kind of utilities are cool but alot fail to take major factors into account. This one doesnt detect Hybrid graphics setup or OC. CanYouRunIt doesnt detect OC or even the proper vid card alot of times or proper DX specs. They offer suggestions of worse cards as an improvement. CanYouRunIt suggested I update from a HD4250- HD6850 Hybrid setup to a GT220, and this one suggested the GT9800. Which I find hillarious since according to benchmarks an OC HD6850 beats a 460 FTW which should fall into reccomended since they list the regular 460 just below recommended. And surprise surprise being a Nvidia app they dont offer any ATI suggestions, which we all know is required for Hybrid graphics, and I wouldnt buy a MOBO that supports that so I cant use it.

If they could actualy ramp the cards up for the test it would be a differant ball game. Hardware Canucks has a nice page showing what some of the monster OC cards can do when you jack em up.

I have a GTS 250 which is just a remake of the GTX9800+ card. So I would be playing the game on lower settings for sure.

more than anything its a marketing tool, so if your card is under minimum recommended specs, it can tell you to buy a fantastic new nvidia card.

I wish these kinds of utilities would show a huge disclaimer outlining what I mentioned above because Im sure there are many people who are not GPU savy like ourselves who go out and buy a new vid card when they didnt need to. So many cards now days are underclocked out of the box and can be jacked quite a bit. Im not sure about Nvidia cards since I havent owned one since the GT5200 but I know ATI cards going back to the HD3650 had serious OC potential and used ATI's AutoClock technology to only ramp up when needed.

Personaly since Ive already got the 360 version I wont be grabbing the PC one but I did want to see if its benchmarking was more accurate than CanYouRunIt.com. On a sidenote one thing that really baffles me is the disparity between a 360's specs and what PC versions of games require.
