Apparently to allow more than 100 friends in your friends list, Microsoft would have to patch in support for larger friends lists to the game files. Unfortunately this process (for some reason) can not be done with older xbox titles. So to up the friends lists limits, Microsoft would need to shut down Xbox Live support to all the older titles including Halo 2.

The only reason this has not happened as of yet is because of Halo 2 still being so popular, this is the hold up. Not only is Halo 2 popularity holding back larger friends list, it is also keeping all the other older xbox titles xbox live support services alive.

So once Halo 2 goes down in popularity MS will stop supporting it online, along with all the other older titles. Then the friends lists will go up.

MS stated they do not know when this will happen but it will eventually happen.

When they finely stop support for halo 2 and the others, there are going to be a lot of very angry gamers LOL.

100 people on your list is a fair few anyways I know I don't have anywhere near a full list.

So I don't mind either way.

Same here, I have 20 to 30, I keep anyone with the HQ on my list whether I have played with them lately or never. The others I delete if I never play with them at all or totally forget who they are.

I do not want more than I can actually keep track of. But I would like a larger list so I could add someone that communicates and plays well in a particular game like COD, but who has a full list.

The good thing is I guess is that M$ has a larger game base and therefore making them bigger.

And the more people that are happy the better I guess but there is no way I'd remember over 100 people on my 360.

You will have to rip my copy from my cold dead hands!!!

The day halo 2's support on xbox live is canceled will be one of the sadest days of my life. I spent so many good hours on that classic game, and I still love to drop in for some games every once it a while.

A matter of fact, I think I'm going to go play it now Very Happy
