ok i recieved my xcm core cooler v.2 in the mail monday Very Happy {kudos to digitizedsolider for giving me the heads up on the belated parts arrival Wink } anywho i got it and install this product and i was very impressed with it and how simple the installion was and how nice it looked and felt on my box.but last night i was playing vegas as i always do everynight and all of a sudden my box just cracked out and the screen goes blank and the box remains on with all my lights and what not still on and the ring of light is blinking with the 1 and 3rd light blinking only.so i got aon llama and find out that its a overheating code or a glitch in the game files that causes it to lock up and throw the code.so im blown away from this error code and in false beleif of it.because there's no way it could overheat after i installed the cooler Evil or Very Mad .i checked to see how hot it was and it was warm as always but not burning hot.so i got to thinking about it today and i was wondering do u have to vent these fans outside,as in cut a hole for them so it can breathe? Question

It does help i see some people do that. I would try playing another game once for the same amount of period as you did with vegas and see if it locks up. It might be the game that locked up. But i have these fans too and there loud but work great for sure but right now i have the case off since i am doing some painting and that to it but they sure do keep the 360 cooler.

alright so if i did decide to do a case cut for the core cooler would i have to put some kinda vent screen on the case hole so that no dust and objects can get in there? or would it be ok to leave it just open? also i played vegas a min ago and i was playing it for a good min and it seemed to of cleared up but then after about a hour and a half of use it flickered and started blinking again.ughhhh i hope my box doesn't crap out on me,ive already done the rrod fix.and i didn't have to do the dreaded bake treat thankfully.i mean ive played vegas for heated hours of nonstop frag fests and still never had this issue!oh yea my cooler is actually pretty quiet,is u'res the v.2 or v.1 ,that may be why mine is quieter. and finally not to change topic anyone know where i can get my ring of light modded for a good price,i've got the leds i just need someone to do it ,i can solder and what not but holy crap those things are tiny!!!!!!anywho later on peeps

Try playing with the top of the case off and the 360 in an open area

If you do do the case cut, you do not have to put a dust vent if you dust it out every few weeks

Okay man dont freak. I have told many people this many times and maybe we should put it someplace on the site so people dont start tellng you to cut a hole in your case or run a ac wall unit through it or some other totally nonsense ideas. What has happened is when you installed your cooler and put your fan shroud back on you didnt close one eye and stick your tongue out of your mouth ala Micheal Jordan style. What I mean to say is you have to make sure that fan shroud is on exactly or you will get a overheat code each and everytime. So take your 360 case off and reinstall your fan shroud making sure everything clicks into place. Then turn on 360 and wait and see if it overheats. If it does wait 30 minutes and retry installing fan shroud again. Like I said if that thing is not on perfectly you will get a overheat everydamn time. I hope this helps and for godsakes don't cut a hole in your case unless you really want too. Wink

Well if your saying your fans aren't working as in the twin fans in the back then I'd get the tallismoon whisper fans. They cost $25 and they work great (move more air than the stock fans). As far I know your going to have to buy them off the internet since there isn't local modding shops lol (how cool would that be?).

Sorry about the late response

If its your stock fan that isn't working your either going to want to replace it with the Talismoon whisper, or the Talismoon whisper max, both are perfect replicas of the stock fans just more powerful. If you want the quiet version get the whisper, the more powerful version the whisper max
