You need to create a network between the 360 and your PC. Go to your control panel and click on create home network. This will open your PC to connections from the 360.

Im going to write a quick tutorial now which will hopefully explain things in full detail on what you have to do to get your Xbox 360 on your HOME NETWORK so you can share files from your PC to the Xbox 360.

Im sure it will help when i get it done..

Be sure to check the tutorials area too for more info which may help you:

btw.. can you fix the size of your signature.. Its way too wide.. Thanks

I use TVersity to stream all my music, videos, and pictures, and even some youtube videos, and 360-hq trailers! I think TVersity is the most useful program for your pc/360. The only thing you need to remember when setting it up is that you have to open the port on your pc and your router and you need to set sharing to yes in Windows Media Player 11

Here is a tutorial we have on the site (hobbs is writing a new one but this one should get you started)
http://www.360-hq.com/xbox-tutorials-34.html

and the download is here
http://www.360-hq.com/download-file-123.html

If you have any questions setting it up feel free to post here or private message me!

Its still a little wide, if you need help making it smaller or anything feel free to let me know. Also if you have any questions setting your TVersity up let me know and I'll help you out!

Alright, you shouldn't need xbox live for streaming media, but by the sounds of it your running a cat45 directly from the xbox 360 to the pc (or is there a router in between?)

My first tip is opening ports in your windows firewall and router(if you have one)

Xbox / Windows Media Player sharing ports

Name: Xbox360-1 Type: (TCP) Port: 2869
Name: Xbox360-2 Type: (UDP) Port: 1900
Name: WMC 360-1 Type: (UDP) Port: 10284
Name: WMC 360-2 Type: (UDP) Port: 10283
Name: WMC 360-3 Type: (UDP) Port: 10282
Name: WMC 360-4 Type: (UDP) Port: 10281
Name: WMC 360-5 Type: (UDP) Port: 10280
Name: WMC 360-6 Type: (TCP) Port: 10243

Name: Tversity Default Port Type: (TCP) Port: 41952 (default)

second thing to do after that is enable sharing in WMP 11 (click the arrow below library, then media sharing, then enable it in the new window)

Then after that just import all your media into TVersity, start the media server, turn your 360 on and it should recognize it.

If it doesn't please come back and we'll be glad to assist you until you get it working 100%

Hi.

Yeh just got a normal non crossover cable going from xbox to the mobo network port.

I have clicked share on windows media player.

Have got xp pro sp3 installed. And running AVG anti virus.

Do you have to do anything in Network Connections? like Local Area Connection is on at moment and is saying network cable unpluged when i turn 360 on it looks for connection and pops up a message This connection is limited or have no connectivity. also i have got wireless net but the running off a usb sender.
