So i've bought a RROD 360 on ebay. It cost £60 but it comes with the hard drive and a controller. I also bought one of those kits from xecuter, their rrod fix kit. Hopefully i can fix it. I'll keep the hard drive and flog it on so then i would have got a hard drive cheap Smile

Has anyone used one or know what the kit contains? I should have it through in a couple of days and if anyone is interested i'll take some pics of the kit and post them.

Rebel actually got one with a broken dvd drive and not the RROD so the guy was lying. I think he took it to ebay directly, you will have to ask him for more details.

As for the RROD repair kit I think it is just the standard set of bolts that you need, it might come with the screws and whatnot to open the 360. This is most likely what it contains

so i would hope you get more than that in it.....?

allso when i fixed my 360 i just used some masking tape and 4 x 1mm washers with the same x-clamp and it worked fanfastic....... Very Happy

Hi guys sorry took so long to respond but just got home from work. Yeah my 360 that I bought was supposed to be rrod but instead had a broken drive. I filed a dispute with paypal and they decided in my favor and had seller refund all my money including the shipping. Paypal contacted me and asked me for all the emails I recieved from the guy including the one where he told that the system played games fine it just would rrod after awhile so Paypal knew he lied to me. Anyhow I am very interested in seeing pictures of the 360 you recieve and the rrod kit so I know what to get if I ever get to fix a rrod. I hope your ebay experience is better then mine was! Very Happy

The Kits that I bought had enough of the metal washers (2 per hole) and nylon washers (1 per hole) for the CPU & the GPU. Plus, it did have the screws too, a little longer than the original ones and a slightly thicker I think. (just my opinion) It also came with a tube of Arctic Silver 5.

Got the xecuter kit, i'll post some pics of it soon. What a waste of money. All you get is 2 screwdrivers (which i already have) and 4 thermal pads. You don't even get instructions.

No wonder they never posted pictures, it is just a quick money making scheme.

I take it the pads are for the memory chips or something. Is it just like the coin trick that i have seen can anybody guess?

I'll have to get some screws and washers i think coz i'm not convinced that this kit will do anything.
