The following is ripped from a site I was looking at....

jcbains writes "With seven new relases this week there is a little bit of something for everyone. We have first person shooters, third person shooters, sports, family fun, action and adventure and three movie tie ins, all in one week.

First up from Starbreeze studios, the same studio that brought Riddick to the XBOX is The Darkness. The Darkness is an action game in which you play the part of Jackie Estacado, a possessed mob hit man who can summon demons to do his bidding. The Darkness features a single player campaign that should take you about 10 hours to complete and online multiplayer which seems, at the moment, to be lacking.

Overlord from Codemasters is an action adventure game with some RTS elements. This is on of the few games in which you are the bad guy. You can have a party of up to 50 minions from four different skill sets to do your bidding for you. Overlord will feature a full single player campaign and multiplayer over XBOX Live with three different gametypes.

Then we have Transformers which is based on the movie that is due in theaters on July 4th. Transformers was developed by Traveller’s Tales and features two campaigns, one each for the Autobots and Deceptecons. Transformers is a “sandbox” game that promises free roaming of the environment. I was unable to find any info about online multiplayer so I wouldn’t hold my breath if you were expecting it out of this game.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is also based on an upcoming summer movie. The game is also a sandbox game in which you have free roam of Hogwarts castle and are able to explore every inch of the castle. The game is to follow the story from the movie closely and EA also plans to include some things from the novel as well. There doesn’t look to be any multiplayer over XBOX Live on this movie tie in either.

Hour of Victory from Midway is another WWII first person shooter in the rather crowded WWII First person shooter genre. Hour of Victory looks to include a single player campaign along with multiplayer over XBOX Live. The game took a pounding on internet forums after the release of the demo on the XBOX Live. I guess we can hope that they’ve made major improvements.

The Bigs is an Arcade style baseball game that features over the top gameplay with power ups and special moves. The Bigs from Take 2 has single player play as well as 4 player multiplayer over XBOX Live.

The last game to be released this week is also based on a movie but this movie is already in theaters. In Ratatouille you play the part of Remy the Rat who dreams of becoming a chef after watching a cooking show on television. The game will follow the story of the movie but will also fill in some gaps with material created exclusively for the game. Ratatouille looks to be a very enjoyable family game that we can play with our kids.
