Well as you can read in the topic there is something wrong with my friends xbox. Believe it or not it is burning his video games. First it burnt his Smackdown game and yesterday it destroyed his Dead Rising. Now ofcourse it did not set it on fire, but the laser like burned a scratch on the dvd in a perfect circle. I messed with the internals of the original xbox but the 360 is much to expense to ruin, so i was wondering if anyone on this site could have some advice i could give to my friend or something of the sort. Or at any hope maybe another site that could help me help my friend. Do you think that he could get somekind of factory refund of the warranty or something, maybe be reimbursed for the games, because like i said i have never seen a scratch on a dvd like that before. Any and all help is appreciated. THanks

If its still under warranty, have him call Microsoft and get it replaced. I'd love to see what those discs look like, have any pictures?

Did the 360 ever get turned when a game was spinning? My kids knocked over my 360 before and got similar scratches.

it is possible for the smackdown game, but the dead rising game no, it was lying on the table horizontally and he put the game in and then it froze, he pulled the game out and showed it to me and it had the scratches on it. So what do ya think, could he get reimbursed, the 2 games and a new 360.

Microsoft is picky about this, its very doubtfull they will do anything. Can't hurt to try. Best of luck.

Contact support via email with the photos.. Smile
Hopefully they will look into it for you.

I know for a fact there are certain titles they were replacing but not sure if those two are included..

I had problems similar to you with my Rainbow Six Vegas DVD.. It seems to be the only disc i have with that issue.. Maybe the manufacture process for some game discs could have been different.. I dont know but all my other originals have no marks.

Sorry to hear about the scratches but let us know how you go.
