I'm going to tell you all about this LotR game. Well this is a little late seeing as the game has been out for a long time. But I'd hate to see people waste money on a game that I could have prevented. I haven't played the original game on PC.
Avoid this game at all costs. Even if you are the Lord of the Rings fan. This has really ruined my view of the Rings gaming empire that they had not that long ago. The developer, EA games, has made The Two Tower, Return of the King, and The Third Age. All of them excellent games for their consoles. Then they released Battle for Middle Earth II.
When I first got it it looked pretty impressive. But then again I was used to playing an Old X-Box and a PS2. The graphics are all past gen, not worthy of the Next Gen status. The amount of blocky graphics I noticed today when I was playing was to much to even bare. Gameplay is weird and at some times difficult (it's all about using the triggers). It's got a good storyline based on the behind the scenes of the movies and the main books.
Some pluses of the game are the Battle of Helms Deep where you can either defend against 3 invading armies or take the battle to fort as Orcs and Goblins. The voice overs were done by Hugo Weaving the man who played Elrond in the movies. The none of the other voices were done by the other actors from the movies.
I give this game a 4/10. Hope this helps anyone out if they are thinking about buying this. _________________________________________________________ At ease soldier.
