Hi their!

Please could somebody help me Smile

I currently use a PC monitor to play my 360 on, so i connect to it via VGA!

Now i wish to be able to play on this monitor at the same time as i record our clan matches and footage form our tournaments.

Would the following work:

Feed the VGA cable directly from the 360 into this splitter cable. From their connect one side of the splitters output to my PC monitor, and then connect something like this to the other side of the splitter.

Then connect the S-Video or composite cable to a video capture device connected to my PC.

Would this work?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Do you have a capture card on your pc??
You will need some sort of capture device..

I do movie captures for 360-hq from my 360 but i plug it directly into my capture card and play on my pc monitor using windwos capturing software like VIRTUALDUB..

You can see my movies that i have captures on the 360 here:

Yes, that would work.. Im not sure exactly on how much loss you will get from splitting the video signal if any.. I used to run my xbox 360 and a projector at the same time using a simliar method but i did notice a little loss in quality.. Not huge but just thought id mention it.

It will be more then good enough to capture and play at the same time..

hope that helps.

anyone else got any input??

But ill be pumping out 1080i to a capture device that can only cope with 480i, would that not be a problem? (Somebody on another forum told me this wouldnt work, but didnt really explain why)

Thanks

Honestly not sure, I don't think it would work as the signal would be incorrect. The adapter would work if you output in 480i tho. Currently you have to have some very high end equipment to capture in HD, so I think you'd be better off just trying to play for the capture sessions in 480i.
