As far as xbox live goes. I have not tested my console on it. Xbox Live is not free, I refuse to pay Bill Gates any money for it. Unless there is a way to get on Xlive for free, I ain't even gonna bother testing their RGH console detection right now.

I am also not happy with M$, Hate paying Bill Gates any money.

I was being a little crabby yesterday as I was having trouble getting my game paths on FSD 3 to work.

I read about the xbox live code generator sites all the time. Do they actually work for free xbox live? If any of them work, or if there are weekends where M$ offers free xbox live, I could try out my RGH console on live and see if M$ bans it immediately.

If true, suggestions anyone?...

I would guess that after going on the live with my RGH console and playing with others, it would get banned within a few hours.

They are all fake, all of Microsoft's codes are literally generated by mashing a keyboard (if I recall properly), there is no generation algorithm; therefore the only way to receive a "free code" would be if someone actually bought it, which chances are very low that someone would give it away like that. Aside the point, even if there was a generation algorithm, the chances of someone cracking it and using it, are extremely low to none for chances.

Also, yes you will be banned after using your console online. Nobody really does it anymore to be honest. There is no point whatsoever! The only reason people use to was to host those hacked lobbies for Call of Duty way back in the day.

I think its a bit weak that people dont want to pay for an online service after getting their console modded. It coast the same amount as a game if not cheaper. Everyone here knows I'm all about getting free stuff but come on if you really want to play online just pay the fee. You can think Bill Gates is getting your money BUT you're getting something out of it a good time with your friends and other gamers.

If you want all out free you shoulda gone with a cfw ps3. Just a bit of a rant though. But like I said even if you attempt to go on xbox live with a RGH theres a strong chance you're going to get a ban within the week. Or sell your rgh get a stock 360 flash the dvd drive only and pay the online fee for a 360.

I buy a three months Gold for my son to play Xbox live,
You also get Games for gold downloads for free,
Just got Sleeping Dogs for free download on gold.
I have got 4 games for free on Xbox live Gold,
All full games not demo's.
Even if you get a 7 day Gold trial browse games
that are free for Gold and download all games you can to get your moneys worth, I do it every month.

There are ways to scam websites that have digital downloads but it generally only works with cheaper codese such as the 3 month. You can just use it then tell them the code isn't working they'll tell you to contact microsoft but if you act nice enough and try to explain you really dont have they time to do that they'll refund you if you get lucky.

So halofan,

Was your JTAG worth the trouble? How is yours setup? can you still play online if you choose to and switch back to default setup? I would have thought that you could do that for sure by now but maybe not.

Anyway, hope you're enjoying the emulators. I found the OG Xbox to be better overall, much less hassle.

I would agree with you on the ease of setup Hobbs. My RGH guy just gave me a bunch of apps and put FSD loader on my 360 memory stick and sent me packing. I would have preferred more help, I'm probably going to just send him an email ask how the hell he set up his apps and emulators.

I still think the RGH was worth the cost and here's why:

1.) I don't have to play my Halo 3 or Fable games from the disk drive, but can play their ripped backups from my console's internal hard drive. This saves my console the burden of using the disk drive. The disk drive would clunk along pretty loudly and the fans were working like crazy. Obviously xk3y lets you do the same thing too, but for more money. Of course I can still play other kinds of *cough cough* backups too.

2.) JTAG and RGH consoles allow me to control my console's fan speed manually. Considering my friend sold me his barely used (according to my RGH guy) phat white falcon console, there remains a possibility of getting RROD. By opting to manually run my fans, I'm avoiding the possibility of overheating the system. This will help extend the life of my console as long as I possibly can without reballing or reflowing it. Non-modded consoles don't let you control fan speed or even tell you the core temperatures. Dvd flashing and Xk3ys ain't gonna do that either for ya :')

3.) With JTAG and RGH I can choose any size internal drive I want to use up to 2TB. I bought a 20GB hard drive from gamestop, formatted my 1TB seagate backup plus portable drive to FAT32, ripped off the external drive case and popped that laptop hdd into my console, formatted it with the M$ modded dash and started storing game backups and profiles to the thing. Xk3ys does allow external drive play, but in my case the external USB 3.0 drive wasn't recognized by my console. Having it RGH'd is crucial for me to do this.

You can also permanently change your fan speed as well, I believe there is a *.xex that will do it for you, you can set it from 10 - 100% and it works great! It flashes a small proportion of your SMC (if I remember correctly) which changes the fan speed's from a dynamic to static state, although can be set back to auto using any other fan control software (FreeStyle Dash, etc).

Which version of FSD do you run legendary? I simply went into the settings menu or something of my RGH'd console, went to fan speed and changed it to 100%. Whenever my console boots, first it plays the 360 splash screen, then the fans start to roar and FSD boots to the main menu. I never have to constantly change my fan's speed from auto to manual 100% every time I turn the console on.

I think the .xex file you refer to may have once been a separate executable for older version of FSD. My guess is that the FSD coders simply built this into the FSD dash software. Didn't they do the same thing with the system link patch or was that always included with dashlaunch from the very beginnings of the program?

Cool man! I've been wanting to mod my Xbox 360 for a while now, but I'm not sure if I want to shell out the money for it. I'm also not to the point where I'm sure that I'll never use Xbox Live again.

Isn't the R-JTAG also the preferred modding method right now over the RGH?

That is because it is setting your fan speed when your console boots, although if you were to disable FSD and launch another *.xex on boot-up, it wouldn't set the fan speeds! I used an alternative method which actually wrote the fan setting permanently into my flash so regardless of what I did, my fans were always running at what I set them to! When I had my JTAG I didn't have any of that integrated into Ddashlaunch, but then once again that was when dashlaunch did nothing more but launch an application at startup! It might have been integrated into dashlaunch now though, I haven't booted up my JTAG in a very long time!

Out of curiosity, which mod-chip did you use to perform your RGH? I'm not sure which one I should choose for my Slim (Trinity) as it's been sitting around way to long to not hack it!
