I cant argue against the fact many did want apps on XBOX1, used em on 360, and wants them on XBOX-one. But Im not one of them. Only apps on my XBOX are my installers, which I install as an app for testing to avoid wasting 1000's dollars on DVD's. Im part of what from all appearances is the dominate area of XBOX1. We care about games and emus and other than softmod installers or maybe XBMC dont use apps. On 360 I had no choice, I paid my Gold membership yet when I would turn it on I would sill get hit with Justin Beber concert, UFC stream etc. And to say for XBOX-One we do or dont have a choice on this crap and apps is nieve. Until we have an actual console in posesion we cant go by reports. Betting pool, how many 180's will MS pull with XBOX-one

Forgive my ignorance as I haven't bought a 360 yet, and have only played it a few times, but are you saying M$ puts ads in their xbox live program?! It would be one thing for Sony to do that because their online service is completely free. Or were you just saying the xbox live service suggested you do non-video game activities that did not interest you?

They have ads on the main dashboard but you dont have to click on them.

The ads are non intrusive. Most are about things that matter to gamers. Like a notice of an upcoming live event such as E3. The 3rd party ads are only 1 little box some pages. Oh my god! End of the world apocalypse here!

Hulu has ads but you pay a premium. Many games have ads built-in them. I'll buy a PS4 just to find all the faults with the system and their network, can't wait! I already know the PS3 live network sucks compared to xbox live. Oh and to answer the remark that all we have is Kinect and xbox live, both are big and and great and the best there is hands down and they are only going to get better with xbox one. Most hard core gamers are hard core multiplayer (not all). So you telling me xbox live does not matter? Bull shit!
I'll go to my grave saying the APPS are a blessing not a curse. I don't try to speak for others like some here but you can be hard core and still want to to watch Netflix sometimes. I love how some like to feel better by being a cookie cutter idiot. I'll do what I want and like.

Totally agree with you. Typical M$ BS. They find a great company like Bungie, say, "Halo looks marketable. Keep making more games and wear suits to every damn meeting."
Halo 4 was kind of silly too many items to keep track of. Way bloated compared to Halo 2 or even Halo 3.
That's why Bungie opted out of the deal with M$, and forfeited their rights to the Halo franchise. Bungie's employees were used to wearing jeans to work and doing creative stuff just for fun, even if it might not necessarily lead to a marketable product. Kind of like how google let's employees spend 20% of their time working on stuff that interests them. Who knows an idea from a creative, smart employee could lead to something in the future, but you can't force someone to be 'creative' it happens spontaneously.
M$ does not make up their own stuff, they are a bunch of stuffy corporate types who find a somewhat decent idea and try to oversell it as cool when it's not.
