To have 56k dial up you need a landline phone. Is not rally a valid argument in point of view.

Let's face it, Microsoft could make console offline, the reason they are making this 24H is for piracy only. Sucks that some people have to pay because of a minority.

That's very true for the once every 24 hr connection. That is all about anti-piracy as is the 1 hr check if you are over a friends house.

I still say it is a joke to worry about internet. Mine is always on. I've never cared about it one way or another and not about to. Internet has been so dependable here that we based our house number on it with VOIP. We completely get all our TV entertainment via our DSL internet connection and will go to fiber as soon as it hits our neighborhood. We could have a faster service with cable but they are too expensive. For the few without internet you can get 360 or PS4 lol

Microsoft should just allow you to play a game offline for any amount of time as long as you have the disc in the console. This would mimic what the Xbox 360 already does, so what would be the issue with this model?

Nothing is wrong with the disc check. I think they should still do that but only require it if you are not online. At least you will be able to play disc based games. I don't think people who are online should have to still insert the disc in.

piracy again.

xk3y comes to mind spoof the optical media drive with a dongle and hdd and you could play games infinitely without internet.

it will probably be how they do hack it this time round if they can crack the 24 hour check and create keygens the game will just play on hdd forever.

Its real simple. If I move it may take up to a week for Telus to hook up my internet. Im sorry but lick my nuts, if I pay $500 for something dont tell me I cant use it for a week. Im not 7 I didnt just get in trouble at school. All this "Future" talk is double-speak for bending you over and nailing you with no grease

Someday all games are going to come from the cloud. Are you going to stop playing then? That's right I'm talking about digital content, games and so on.

There will be a day when your game streams from the cloud as you play just like online movies today.

we won't see that for quite some time. I'm not so sure I want it to go that far because I do like my hardcopies lol

Yes I will. Just ask Hobbs I never pirated a Capcom game until RE6 and it was solely because they dont sell physical copies for PC in stores. I spent a day bitching about it. Cloud sucks youre at the whim of others. No hardcore gamer whos been around since cartridge days will accept such a premise. Oh I buy this game and you decide to quit, boom my money goes in the crapper. NO SALE

i read someones post about it yesterday, basicly it comes down to this:

microsoft are releasing the very first disposable console.

when the cloud no longer supports this console the console will not do anything at all, unless the final update releases the machine of drm (no freakin way) the day they turn off the cloud support is the death of millions of machines.

it may be 10 years away but this is a reality, so those of us that like our old games and want our kids or grandkids to play those games we played in 2013 will have no choice, developers work will be gone down the toilet, unless you buy a ps4.
