Inspired by Ben Heck and other console modders, Techjango offers the Darkmatter Xbox Laptop as a cost effective DIY kit or as a fully assembled system. The Kickstarter has just launched and is accessible here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1360501894/darkmatter-xbox-laptop-and-diy-kit

The project is Open Source and once the funding goal on Kickstarter is met, all design files will be released to the public. The laptop features touch controls for eject, synch, volume etc. It also comes with built in stereo speakers, a headphone jack and an amp. The display is a 15 inch 720p pane. A DVD drive is included and the system is compatible with all Xbox 360 games as it is based on the slim version of the popular Microsoft console.

Not too crazy about the idea.

- It's modded hardware so how fast will M$ Ban your account?
- No additional way to install additional modchips
- Will you be able to flash the DVD drive at all?
- No HDMi out
- Why are they doing this so close to when a new gen is coming out?
- How much will a prebuilt system cost $600+?
- Where do you put a internal hdd?

People who are into modding will be asking these questions, theres no reason why it couldnt have hd out. Not all are irrelevant.

Where did I say it was a bad thing? Just pointing out flaws, where's the internal hdd go? The xbox comes with a hdmi port so are you going to be able to port it to a external monitor? Will you be able to flash the drive? How much is a prebuilt console going to coast?

Chill your attitude bro.

It's a portable home made console, It's not a all in one console.

There is no point in a portable console to have a connection to an external monitor, for flashing... flash it before mounting it.

The price, probably expensive as every other great modding service.

PS: I don't get that attitude thing, I wounder how people think were are mad by reading something... Rolling Eyes

So with that being said theres no point in notebooks having dvi, hd, or vga ports
The Xbox has a hd port so theres no reason why you couldn't connect it to a external monitor.

Why do you think it would be stupid to be able to have the option to hook up a external monitor to be able to mirror the display onto a bigger screen?
