I've been hearing people say that they're wanting to wait and buy a new gen console with their money and that's fine and all, just remember that there's never a bad time to buy a new console. I'm still going to purchase a ps3 and wait a few months on the ps4. Just look at it like this, They are still selling the ps2 new for around $100 that's great and all but they were also selling the ps1 new sealed not too long ago I think they stopped either 2008 or 2006 so sooner or latter the PS3 is going to go bye bye and people are going to make it a mission to hunt down new and sealed consoles. So my point is if you want a what's considered older gen console and can still find it sealed grab it! Don't wait a year or two because they could be gone by then.
I remember as a kid a lot of my friends use to laugh at me for still having an older gen console I was on snes and everyone was upped to the n64. So the point I'm just trying to make is always love your elder consoles, sometimes it's even better this way because games are cheaper and you don't have to wait a long time for games to come out. There are still going to be awesome titles released on 360/PS3 so I think it's definitely still worth making the purchase especially with all the bundle packages you're getting now.
But as for me I feel myself going back to Sony so my minds made up on picking up the PS4 and I'm not wondering if the rest of hq feels like this and if we're going to have a playstation section more active than 360.

And I may pick up this baby for an even better next gen gaming experince: http://www.walmart.com/ip/LG-47LM4600-47-1080p-120Hz-3D-LED-1.4-ultra-slim-HDTV/21693005

it's not too late to buy a previous generation console factory sealed?
...........
huh?! Confused
its what "special reserve" is for, NOT a public accessible supply! (ways and means though)
...........
i can't say i'd fork out for a last gen boxed up...well, if it goes cheap then yes but reality says otherwise!
if you can afford it then by all means!
the dreamcast i got off froggydarren is without a doubt the MOST expensive piece of tech i've paid for, not even the ps3 BC model comes close and that was factory sealed (at knockoff prices) the dreamcast wasn't! (360j RGH was given to me for FREE, no complaints there)
it was a limited edition, only a 1000 housings like it in the world...worth it for the transparent cobalt look...just superficial!
all depends what side of the money ladder you're on?
for 95% of us, the ship has sailed and anything that comes our way is pure SHEER luck combined with the the timing of an atomic clock, not feasible! (loaded or well off can knock themselves out on it, they have the "can-do" and we just back the f*ck off, too rich and all that)
..................
i half agree with the above on the count of TIME, not finances/common-sense! (no disrespect intended there)
it's never too late to buy a new console...BUT?!??!?! Crying or Very sad

It's fine buying them used but newer systems come complete with box and manuals ect which seems to be what most collectors end up missing in their collections those simple little things that they try so hard to get.

Funny you mentioned this.. I was hunting around looking to buy an Xbox 1 Console in its original factory sealed case.. Smile Pretty expense these days and worth a pretty penny.. I also bid on a brand new in box Commodore 64 the other day, its over 15 years old, still brand new and went for over $350.00 AU dollars..

Well that said alot.

Theres a good chance that the next gen consoles wont be backwards compatible if that's what you're getting at

But whats the point of getting a ps3 if you have an xbox 360 (they share pretty much all games)
