The Windows 8 Consumer Preview is available right now. Hit the link to learn more..

Xbox Live in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview includes games, video, music and Xbox companion applications. In the preview, these apps are just a taste of the features that will be available at launch.

With Windows 8, the whole experience of Windows has been reimagined. It’s designed to work on a wide range of devices , from touch-enabled tablets, to laptops, to desktops and all-in-ones. We’ve designed Windows 8 to give you instant access to your apps, your files, and the information you care about most so you can spend less time navigating and more time doing what you actually want to do. You can move between Windows 8 PCs easily and access your files and settings from virtually anywhere. We’ve made touch a first-class experience and navigating with a mouse and keyboard fast and fluid. And just like Windows 7, reliability and security features are built in. It’s the best of Windows 7, made even better.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview and Xbox LIVE available now:

I wish Windows 8 looked like it was actually made for desktops instead of looking like it was made for tablets. I'll probably be sticking with Windows 7 and skipping Windows 8.

Totally agree with you... another Microsoft OS failure.

Seems like 8 is windows 7 with tweaks and then the optional metro tablet thing. I think M$ is actually going to do good with W8 and I hope it isn't another vista. I think they are trying to take tips from apple with OSX 10.7/10.8 and getting more user friendly in a tablet fashion.

Might have to give the preview a whirl and see how it goes!

Yeah me too. I not into the whole sliding stuff. I kind of like the way win 7 is but I will try anything to see how it is.

I heard some microsoft dude talking how they want windows 8 to run on anything, like phones, tablets, pcs.

I can see where they are trying going with it. Taking ideas from different companies trying to unify all there devices under one os.

Unfortunately from what I've found with those windows phone are that a) no one i know has one b) I don't think many are actually that bothered.

If I was Microsoft I'd fforget about their phone range as apple, samsung and sony got that cornered and make a handheld gaming device with a fully fledged windows 8 os. Give it a couple sd slots for memory make it the most ergonomic hand held with xbox 360 graphics and full game download.

If they did that and kept the cost down it would make them bank. Surely the tech is old enough now to down size they did mostly with the ps3 by making a vita but surely the insides of an xbox arent as advanced as a ps3.
