Ok, going to try to make this as short as I can. My boys xbox, which was modded with ixtreme 1.51, with a hitachi spoofed as a benq was working great and then just died, no boot no post, power supply is good. So I went to pawn shop, bought another one, this one has lite-on 74850c. So I purchase ck3 kit and extract key from unit and flash with ixtreme lt, good right, well, shortly after I noticed that only certain games would work.

The following work: halo3, jurassic the hunted, even Army of two 40th day works, but it asks me if I want to update. oooooops, I forgot to update system before I flashed, I pulled a dumb dumb.

But, is this why my COD MW2 does not work when it used to just fine in other system? I get continual can't read disk errors and I want to say that it has worked once out of a hundred tries.

I have tried reburning with verbatim at 2.4x and checked with abgx, splitvid is on.

I have tried adjusting pot on laser of dvd but that did not improve so returned back where it was.

I tried swapping laser with benq vad6038 and that did not work at all. however, they were identical.

has anybody ran into this problem? or is just that I did not update before I flashed?

If that is it, can I reflash back to manufacturer firmware from ixtreme lt, then do upates and reflash? I have not tried to update system since ixtreme lt has been flashed on it, I read that it can really screw up your box, any truth to that?

Thanks guys, sorry for long explanation and request.

Well here is a few things you can try.
1. If your going to be playing online yea i would flash it back to normal then do the updates from xbox live. After that is all done i would reflash it.

2. Make sure to use LT 1.1 version as it has better compatibility for lite-ons with various disc media.

if they are just normal game updates i would not worry to much but people do flash back to normal then do the update then flash back to modded. Were i think that Xecuter XDrive would be really nice for situations like that for people that get sick of opening there console all the time.

Thanks for the feedback, I flashed back to stock to get updates, updated to 9199 I guess is what it is, then flashed back to lt 1.1, however still having problems with disc reading especially mw2. I am thinking that when I originally flashed that maybe the rumor about unplugging laser on lite-on 74850c drive should have been done. I get alot of unreadable disc errors. I used to have an original mw2 disc, but my son cracked that on accident, so I used a back up, but it's not working, and used to work on another box I had and has only worked maybe twice on this one.

Are you sure your DVD Burner isn't on the way out?
How old is it and which brand..

Dirty disc is either due to bad laser in your Xbox 360 DVD Rom (you could maybe tweak it to get better results) OR due to your computers DVD Burner.
If you have another machine handy try burning to VERBATIM at x2.4 or x4.

hope you get your issue sorted man.

Got it, laser on 360 was going out. I had a Benq drive and swapped lasers and had to lower impedance on pot of Benq to around 3.0 and Boom, everything works great.

Thanks for help and suggestions guys.
