Like the title says Did you get Kinect??? I'm going to shell out a bit of coin for it.. I find it interesting and I love the idea of a homebrew (open-source) drive being worked on already.. You could build some awesome pc applications.

but anyway, back to the main purpose of Kinect.. The Xbox 360.. Are you getting one?? I am! Smile

Man I am going to wait for a couple of months at least and even then I want to see some rave reviews and some very cool games for it. I mean from what I have heard so far it is buggy and laggy. That alone makes me a bit hesitant to shell out that kinda cash. Also Xbox 360 is 5 years old and I can just see me shelling out the cash and Microsoft doing like they did too the original xbox and forgetting about it once the new console comes out. So yeah it will take alot of major factors clicking in place before I even think about Kinect.

Annoying

I've had mine for a week now and I love it. I am big time old school but Kinect is cool, fun and fresh. I am having withdrawals since I am away from home right now. Kinect is for everyone, it doesn't matter who you are or what your are. My New Years resolution will be to use the Kinect at least everyday for a minimum of an hour.

The only grip I see is that it needs lots of space. There will be complaints from people who have apartments or small rooms that it sucks, I am sure we'll be hearing that. Even if you have a fairly good size place for it, man, you may need some serious furniture re-arrangements.

One plus about that negative is that ladies seem to like this thing so you might just get the go ahead from your lady to do what it takes to have the best Kinect play area.

Don't get me wrong, it is nice to sit down and play the regular control pad games. Kinect is not even meant to replace them but it sure adds a great new way to have lots of fun. That's my take on the Kinect

True, it does need alot of space which is my only gripe too.

Apart from that, Kinect is more than what I expected it to be. It far surpasses the wii and PS Move and is the best fun I've had in ages. The body tracking is spot on and you really do feel like you are the controller Very Happy

They had to low the Frame rate to 15 because of the lag, now MS will send an update to increase the Frame rate so that Kinect will capture our fingers movement... Nice

In some of the demo takes, I noticed that the Kinect can actually track many people at once (they say up to 30). In one scene, they had about ten people moving around and it was tracking them all individually. It means the Kinect can have way more than 2 players at once, the issue is the space needed for safety I guess. So, of course, that is why we only see 2 player games.

Now if it had more detailed tracking like X_Splinter is talking about, I think we would be one step closer to emotional recognition that I hope to see in future RPG. Real acting based on face and body language that effects game play. Top it off with speech now that would be crazy.
