Hi fellas!

Try to keep this short:
Got a X360 Xenon/Zephyr FAT PAL back in 2005.
It went RROD twice, both repaired under warranty (replaced mb?). Drive is a BenQ model.
In 2010/11 I got it LT 2.0 flashed by a local modder and then later flashed it meself to 3.0 in 2012.
Some months ago it broke down w RROD again and I "fixed it" twice by cleaning CPU,GPU + new cooling paste + overheating the GPU.
This meant, that when I finally ordered the proper Xclamp gear from Xecuter (good stuff) I had well and truly fried the GPU and now it overheats and freezes up.

Now, I got a Slim replacement which I cannot firmware hack > 165DS drive so I am looking for one of these solutions:

A) Replacement motherboard of FAT PAL type, possibly RGHed/Jtagged in advance.
Can you simply replace the main board with fx a Falcon/Jasper even if you already have a drive that's flashed?

B) A whole used/as new PAL FAT console, possible firmware hacked or RGH/Jtagged, possibly with an upgraded fan.
Can anyone advice me on which fans work well with a FAT model?

Cheers and pardon the rant!

Thanks for welcoming me back, forahobby! How ya doing DJB?! Remember the old days with my screwy server? Wink

Hi guys,
Anybody in here able to maybe help out a bit with this one?

CHEERS!

Did some google research. So it cannot be a Zephyr given that it was the first board with HDMI:

http://beta.ivc.no/wiki/index.php/Xbox_360_Revisions#Zephyr

This bloke is trying to peddle the Falcon board as a HDMI mb:

I have inquired as to how this might be possible - he will no doubt be overjoyed for the information Very Happy

As long as they supply you with the dvdrom key for the mainboard when you buy the board you shuold be fine but you will need to flash a new key to the drive i suspect.

If you're unique dvdrom key is NOT paired to your Xbox 360 mainboard/motherboard you won't be able to boot games, but only movies and play from the hdd.

No idea on fans, its been a while, i used to always fit aftermarket fans built for the 360.

Not a problem guv, I know you got plenty of stuff to get on with. Thanks for taking the time.

I went ahead and bought a PAL Xenon main board on Ebay - I received the firmware/DVD key in an email.
It is for a BenQ drive just like my own so at least no need try to spoof the drive model...

Now, I was hoping that I would be able use Jungleflasher to spoof the dvdrom key of the new mainboard unto my old dvd drive which has already been LT+ 3.0 flashed.

Is that possible even if I do not have the original dvddrive's pcb?
Do I even need to do that (the flashing), well, probably if i dont want the ban-hammer from M$.

Pardon me, if you already answered this. Us old fellas get a little rusty with age Smile

if you already have a backup of your old drive and firmware all you need to do is open up the backup of your already hacked drive in jungleflasher and edit the key.. If jungle flasher does not let you edit the key, i think 360 Firmwarr toolbox is what i used to use.

good luck with it, hope you get back online soon!

Thanks again, hobbs. Do you mean that I copy the dvdrom key of the new motherboard and replace my Benq's dvdkey with that? Didn't know that you could just edit the numbers, heh. Will let you know how I fare.
Cheers!

It's been a while since i have played with dvd keys, but yes, the key that has been sent with the motherboard is the key you will need to place onto your dvdrom firmware and flash it back.

So in otherwords your process will be:

1. Backup your OLD DVDROM firmware (or maybe you already have it)
2. Open the OLD DVDROM firmware in 360 firmware toolbox and you should be able to edit your key, im not sure about the latest jungle flasher.
3. Save your firmware with the new key
4. Now open both the originial firmware backup, and your newly saved and edited firmware with the new key.. They should be exactly the same apart from the key.
5. If they are the same, continue and flash!'

Here is an older tutorial i wrote which im sure will help you understand it a little further.

more tutorials can be found here:

hope that helps.
