Have been a fan of Photoshop for a while, but just now getting into the program After Effects. Self teaching myself on this program and want to start to learn how to use it, Decided to start with BF3 captured video and using that as a basis for learning different aspects, a little at a time, such as adding in green screen objects, motion tracking, roto scoping etc. Will post here for fun.

Do not expect too much, I have no experience in this so am a total noob, but think it might be fun to learn.

Feel free to give any pointers or give Ideas, make requests/challenges for things to try and do. No guarantee I can do your request, but if it sounds like a good challenge and something I might be able to do... It can make learning more fun.

Just placing a couple Green Screen objects to see if I could.

Placing moving objects (FLYS) into a confined area (Window) with slight motion tracking, also had to add in a separate Fly sound effect, not quite right sound but its just practice.

Took the jet pilot animation from the single player cut scene on deck where he puts his Flight helmet on just before getting into jet, and placed this animation into the single player cockpit. also added a couple simple animations to instruments with motion tracking, you may recognize the panel on the left is the Predator Count Down Clock.

This one just a simple hood camera with green screen in back, added in the bullet holes on windshield and blood spatter/smoke at end.

not yet, but something to think about, Right now Im trying to get my motion tracking down good enough that I can add a realistic sign to a building and make it look like it belongs there while moving past it. Eventually I want to be able to add in 3d text into a video like you see often on the show Fringe. Was thinking of using the hotel in Gulf of Oman and placing a 360 hq sign. But I am a ways off from getting the 3d object creation down, much less adding to the building just yet. So baby steps. If you have an Idea what you would like me to do with a little bird, let me know, Ill try to figure it out.

I love your clips gamexxover, i wish i had some time to muck around.. How long does it take you to render these small clips? I know you have a fairly decent pc too!

The time consuming part is just stuff like setting the motion tracking and the and setting the color tones so things do not look too out of place which does not always work, and all that type of stuff., the actual rendering goes really quick. Only a minute or so for the short clips. Once rendered by After Effects the video it outputs can be a couple gigs easy for just a very short clip. so then have to use another program to convert the video again to AVI, this takes the video from over 2 gigs down to a dozen or so megs without any loss of video quality. Most of these objects added in are items on a green screen that someone else has made, such as the humvee blowing up, bullet holes etc, I take those and make the green screen part transparent and place in my video clip. But later on I will start working on another program where you actually make solid 3d objects that can be imported into after effects. But thats still a ways off.
