First I apologize if this is another repost this is my first time on this forum.

I was wondering if this would work.

I want to buy an xbox 360 optical drive and flash the firmware on it so i can play iso copies of my games.

I want to just split the sata cables so that i can still use the other drive to play real games without getting banned or whatever...

anyone know if this would work or have a tutorial it would help greatly

peace all

Yes it would work but not on Xbox LIVE you would still need to have your original firmware on for that.

What you want to look into is whats called DVDROM Spoofing.. I wrote a tutorial ages ago on how to do it.

How to Replace/Spoof a Xbox 360 DVD Drive
http://www.360-hq.com/xbox-tutorials-61.html

If you have two drives exact same model you can just SPOOF the key.
In otherwords, your original dvdrom drive has a key, you need to put that into the replacement drive.

No problem at all pSYco_rEaPer89, hope it's what you were after.
I'm very sure that there are a few guys here running similar setup with two drives. You could also look into the external dvdrom drive case from xecuter if they still have them.

Xecuter xDrive

Enjoy the site and be sure to have a browse around, we have loads of information on here; gaming, modding, homebrew, whatever!

Yeah seems like someone would have a switch like excutor had for the original xbox that would allow you to switch back to the original setup to play on xbox live.
