Hi all,

Ive seen all my friends playing GTA IV lately and I know all the other HQ guys are as well and have just read alot of rumours that the xbox 360 version of GTA IV is locking up. All the info i can find states that the xbox 360 isnt locking up at all and it is only the PS3 versions.

If anyone has any issues with the Xbox 360 Version please reply to this thread and tell us what you were doing and what version of the game you bought. Smile

At this stage with 100's of HQ guys playing the game if it froze i would suspect someone would be posting about it. Let's fine out eh?

reply as you will,

hobbs

When i started out and did a few min. of online play it was booting me back to single player left and right but that was just my router acting up. Rolling Eyes

Other then that i had to vote "works like a charm", a 90 dollar charm. LOL

I am thinking there is going to be quite some problems with multi player like any new game that comes out that is very popular on the xbox 360 online play becomes laggy and all that good stuff that was happing today to us but after a little while it didnt do it but i figured so for a new game to do this i figured i would mostly play single player tell about a month then kick into multi for sure. I been playing off and on multi but waiting for those kinks to get out of it thats for sure.

I haven't had one issue with my copy of GTA IV, or my xbox 360 for that matter. I think if you clear your cache it should help for the rare occurrence of a lock up, because GTA IV is very cache heavy, so just follow this guide if you are having issues or any slowdown and my guess it will stop that almost instantly!

Just played for about 12 hours straight and no issues at all with GTA 4 on my dinosaur 360. Very Happy

It's looking good for me. Too bad for those unfortunate ones who are stuck with a PS3 version. Oh well, at least they can play Blueray movies... Very Happy

Rockstar issued an appology on the matter, it seems it is happening on boty consoles. but does not seem to be a constant problem. Mostly happening during the intro movie.
Also they said the lock ups on the ps3 were mostly on the 20gb version and not realy happening in the larger HDD versions.

As far as multiplayer problems, I would be supprised if they had no problems at all there, it happens with almost all games and even more so when you dont put out a beta to test it out. But I can see why GTA would not do a beta on this game, It would give way too much away.

I will ask my brother if he has had any lockups tomorrow, I know he has been playing it like crazy on his 360, Ill ask my sis about her ps3 version as well.

I hope this is something they can fix with some kind of update and not something that is locked into the game and you just have to deal with it.
I know the Battlefield Bad Company beta would lock up alot, usualy at the very end of a long multiplayer game!

This guy will not have any problems with his GTAIV locking up. Cuz it got him locked up lol,,,, Ok that was lame, sorry
Lucky he did not pull that crap in our county, our cops dont put up with shit, seriously, most car chases arround here usualy end up with the criminals trying to make it to the los angeles county line so they can be taken into L.A county custody rather than here in Kern County. Our cops would have had that guy hog tied with an apple in his mouth for kicking and spitting.
