Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation Arrives on Xbox April 3rd

Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation Arrives on Xbox April 3rd

Activision and Infinity Ward announced today that Devastation, the second DLC Pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts, debuts April 3, first on Xbox.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation

Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation features four unique multiplayer maps: Ruins, Behemoth, Collision and Unearthed, an all-new tactical 2-in-1 weapon, and Episode 2: Mayday – the next installment in Extinction’s four-part episodic narrative.

Features
  • RUINS: A mountaintop Mayan ruin overrun by the jungle, Ruins’ skyline is dominated by an ominous volcano on the brink of eruption. The central temple provides a key overwatch position, and adds verticality to the subterranean sections beneath the temple’s foundations. These underground sections, cliffside trails and stairwells create a myriad of pathways and flanking routes so players will never be far from the frantic action.

  • BEHEMOTH: Situated on a massive bucket-wheel excavator (BWE), one of the largest vehicles ever created, Behemoth is a narrow, multi-level map. Long sight lines open Behemoth up to longer-range weapons, while BWE’s core walkways offer tight interior control rooms, ideal for those who prefer close-quarters combat. The map’s multiple levels gives players flanking opportunities so there will rarely be an opportunity to focus solely on your cross-hairs.

  • COLLISION: Having collided with a New York bridge, the resulting wreckage of this cargo ship provides the setting for Collision. With the mangled remains of the bridge, burnt out vehicles, and shipping containers strewn across the deck, this map provides the ideal theatre for tight, close-quarters combat.

  • UNEARTHED: Inspired by Dome, the fan-favorite map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Unearthed drops players at the heart of an alien dig site. Unearthed lies amidst the shadows of mysterious ancient statues, and at its heart is an ancient meteorite – the focus of the excavation.

Moving on to Devastation’s new weapon, The Ripper: This unique weapon provides players with two different configurations: medium to short-range capability as a Sub Machine-Gun (SMG), and medium to long-range as an Assault Rifle (AR), giving maximum flexibility to adjust to a variety of map types and tactics.

And finally, the Extinction experience continues with Episode 2: Mayday. In the aftermath of Episode 1: Nightfall, the Quick Reaction Force team is sent in to investigate a high-tech ghost ship adrift in the South Pacific. In Episode 2: Mayday your team will need new weapons and new tactics to deal with the insidious wall-crawling “Seeder,” and the skyscraper-sized monstrosity known as the “Kraken.” To survive, players must explore the ship’s cavernous environment, scavenge supplies and construct improvised weapons and traps from blueprints found onboard.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation, available April 3rd, first on Xbox.

Black Ops 2 Final DLC 'Apocalypse' Coming First on Xbox LIVE Aug. 27

Black Ops 2 Final DLC 'Apocalypse' Coming First on Xbox LIVE Aug. 27

Activision and Treyarch announced today that "Apocalypse", the fourth and final DLC pack for Black Ops 2 that includes four new multiplayer maps and the all-new Zombies experience "Origins", will be available first on Xbox 360 August 27. Other platforms to follow.

The epic climax of Activision and Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II Downloadable Content (DLC) Season Pass culminates with Apocalypse. Available first on the Xbox Live on August 27th, the game’s fourth and final DLC Pack delivers four thrilling, diverse multiplayer maps and the all-new wildly creative Zombies experience - “Origins”.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Apocalypse delivers four diverse multiplayer maps:
  • Pod: A failed utopian community from the 70’s has left stacks of dilapidated residential pods nestled into an abandoned cliff side in Taiwan. Its residents long gone, the modernist compound now hosts frenetic combat as players must run atop the pods, as well as navigate their multi-tiered interiors for a strategic edge.

  • Frost: Fresh snow meets explosive gunpowder in this snow-capped European city, where the bridge over a frozen canal separates it into two sides, requiring players to employ multi-level traversal strategies to outsmart and ultimately outshoot their enemies.

  • Takeoff: Fans of “Stadium” from the original Call of Duty®: Black Ops First Strike DLC will find themselves at home on “Takeoff.” Marooned in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, this remote launch site is all about close-quarters combat, combining tight corners with open spaces for intense encounters.

  • Dig: An adaptation of the fan-favourite “Courtyard” from Call of Duty®: World at War, where two archaeological dig sites in Afghanistan become the perfect playground for combatants eager for hectic, unceasing confrontations. Treyarch, has retained the spirit of “Courtyard” with two major chokepoints, a wide open layout and raised platforms, but has provided fans with a fresh take on the multitude of paths.

In addition to the four maps, Apocalypse also reveals Origins, the most horrifying and imaginative Zombies experience to date. Players will be deployed to Dieselpunk-stylised World War I-era France where they will encounter the return of the four original heroes from the very first Zombies map, Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, and Rictofen, as well as hordes of zombies that have overrun trenches and fields, as well as the ruins of a mysterious and ancient location.

First Ever Rainbow Six Game Screenshots Leaked

First Ever Rainbow Six Game Screenshots Leaked
Published by: forahobby on Friday, June 24, 2011
Tagged: Gaming, Xbox 360,

According to a recent article by Kotaku, Ubisoft's yet-to-be named Rainbow Six game, that was not mentioned at this years E3, is still very much in the works. The leaked images allegedly give us the first glimpse of the new Rainbow6.

"Rainbow Six" will be a far more story-driven game that previous iterations of the Tom Clancy branded title with gamers tasked with stopping a homegrown terrorist group operating in America. The group, fed up with the greed of Wall Street and the government that acts to protect them, decided to target New York City.

At the heart of the game is a branching morality system that changes the outcome of key moments in the game based on the in-the-moment decisions the player makes. Early development currently has the outcome of these decisions shape the path you take toward the game's ending, with many of the levels having multiple endings. These decisions, we're told, can drastically change the story. In practice, that means that it will be impossible to play every level in the game on a single play-through. Instead, gamers will be rewarded with new experiences based on the changing decisions they make in subsequent plays of the game.

Add "Rainbow Six 2012 (working title)" to your wishlist on 360-HQ!

In action the decisions a player is forced to make seem like they can be emotional, powerful moments in the game. In one example seen first hand by Kotaku, for instance, the terrorists break into a home and kidnap a stranger. You take on the roll of that stranger, forced to hold a trigger button to prevent a vest loaded with explosives from blowing up. Later, on a heavily-populated bridge in New York City, the perspective shifts, having you control the Rainbow 6 team there to take down the terrorists and take out the hapless, walking bomb.
