Sociable Soccer 24 (@Sociable_Soccer), the FIFPRO licensed arcade action game from Sensible Soccer creator Jon Hare, will launch on Steam on November 16. Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, and PS5 versions, plus boxed release will be released in 2024.
Back in 1994 the fledgling FIFA franchise used its marketing muscle to knock Sensible World of Soccer, the most influential European developed game of all time (Stanford University 2006), off the top of the world football game charts. Jon Hare, the British designer of the Sensible Soccer franchise, is a man who holds grudges and now he is back to seek vengeance with Sociable Soccer 24.
“Today, while EA Sports FC and the like are inadvertently grooming children as gamblers by packing their overpriced, overhyped simulations full of loot boxes and all manner of money traps, our game is the only one in the world offering arcade football, packed with fun, for less than half the price AND with 13,000 FIFPRO licensed, real world footballers to unlock for free” - said Hare. “…and all of the people who bought Sociable Soccer on Steam Early Access many years ago will get the whole game for free too.”

Microsoft and Codemaster found out that the version of Sensible World of Socce released today on Xbox Live Arcade had an Xbox Live connection bug.
The game has been taken down. Users who already acquired the game have nothing to worry about. Here is the official word:
It has come to our attention that an incorrect version of Sensible World of Soccer was made available on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft® which has since been taken down. This version incorrectly disconnected users that attempted to connect to Xbox LIVE. We are currently investigating the issue and will have a correctly functioning version of Sensible World of Soccer available soon.
Any users that have already downloaded Sensible World of Soccer will need to delete their copy of the game and download it again when the correctly functioning version is available in order to enjoy online play via Xbox LIVE. Following this process does not incur any additional charges.
“Sensible World of Soccer” draws on the 96 / 97 original to re-create one of the most influential games of all time for the first time in HD.
“Sensible World of Soccer” from Codemasters. Based on the classic 1994 Amiga title, “Sensible World of Soccer” will let gamers choose between the original graphics or an updated, high-resolution look and feel — while still capturing the original’s entire world of football.
Challenge friends over Xbox LIVE, kick it solo in Career mode or flex your managerial muscles by leading a team to the Champions league! The game also features a helpful tutorial mode to bring players up to speed on the most popular sport in the world. Published by Codemasters Online, “Sensible World of Soccer” will be available worldwide, with the exception of Korea, for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB
Sensible World Of Soccer was first announced for XBLA back in September of 2006 for a release date in the first quarter of 2007.
We all know how that one turned out.
However, there are strong indications that the title will finally surface on Wednesday. Codemasters Online Gaming's Jim Brown said the following earlier this month: "We are currently targeting a release at the end of November. Of course this is all subject to passing the usual internal and Microsoft submissions."
Well, CVG noticed that there's only one more Wednesday before December rolls around, so it's do or die time for a November release for Sensible World Of Soccer.
Naturally, after months and months of being burned, we're excited for the title -- but we're not going to hold our breath
