You might recall the Def Leppard on GH4 post from Friday, April 04 @ 07:57:36 EDT, well it turns out the rumor was half fact and half wishful thinking.
Def Leppard will be out for GH, just not GH4 as i found out from the Def Leppard UK home page Ware you can find this announcement: "Available on the 24th April 2008 as part of a three-track Def Leppard song pack, new single Nine Lives will be playable exclusively on the 360 console a week ahead of its debut in stores and through online music distribution services. it will then be made available through Playstation 3 on the 8th May 2008. The pack will include "Nine Lives" and classic Leppard tracks ""Rock Of Ages" and "Photograph".
I know that the idea of a GH4 was the real appeal of the story but on the bright side this is supposed to be the first time ever that a single track will be released in a game format before a traditional launch.
Who would have guessed that guitarheronews.com would GH news and a GH4 rumor mixed up but rest assured that even with out proof of it i am almost certain that sooner or later a GH4 will hit.
According to GuitarHeroNews Def Leppard will have at least 3 songs on the future Guitar Hero 4.
For any one that has not heard of Def Leppard Wikipedia describes the band as so: "The music of Def Leppard is a mixture of hard rock, album-oriented rock (AOR), and heavy metal elements, and has been associated more with the glam metal movement of the 1980s than with the NWOBHM of the late 1970s, in large part due to their mainstream success and production. However, Def Leppard have expressed dislike of the "pop metal" label[3]
By the release of the Hysteria album, the band had developed a distinctive sound featuring heavy drums and effects-laden guitar sounds, overlaid with a multi-layered wall of husky, harmonised vocals. Def Leppard is one of only five rock bands with two original albums selling over 10 million copies each in the U.S. The others are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Van Halen."
Back to the rumor at hand the 3 songs listed to be on Guitar Hero 4 are as follows:
