When it comes to the most successful industries in the world at present, then the gaming business certainly has to be included in the conversation. It continues to be on an upward curve, with predictions that this will continue moving forward and for years to come. Console gaming has been a part of this, with Xbox remaining at the heart of this.
On top of this, there has been a continued growth of mobile gaming, covering a host of different fields from traditional games to casino offerings, like the ones at bet on sports. These continue increase in popularity with bonus and offer codes further adding to this and helping the market growth for gaming continue to surge.
Xbox have also recently released the new Xbox Series X, which is predicted to be a game changer for the console.
The big question when it comes to console gaming, is whether this will rival the PlayStation, as they continue to duel for supremacy. The new Xbox Series X will have the games built for this, with the X/S development kit. This will result in significantly reduced load times to the past and a major improvement on visuals at around 120 FPS. Not only this but it will also include all of the classic titles, that have long been so popular for Xbox gamers and fans alike.
The console will also have smart delivery, so supported games will ensure the best available version for the console you are playing on. To further enhance this further, it will also come equipped with AMD’s Zen 2 and RDNA 2 architectures. Also, DirectX ray tracing delivers true to life lighting, to create a truly dynamic real world feel. Another key feature that has come to a lot of attention is the 3D Spatial audio, which is the next evolution in audio technology. This is due to the system using advanced algorithms in order to create an immersive lifelike experience for gamers, to further enhance the incredible experience. This is truly set to be a game changer and create a new level of gaming for players.
While the latest console generations have offered some of the most unique and exciting video games, they’ve also been plagued with dozens of releases, remasters, and remakes of older games. These games are fun to play, there’s no doubt in that, but are there too many of them?
Console, PC, Smartphone & Casino re-releases
The last few years have experienced a slew of re-releases. We’ve seen both the original Crash Bandicoot and Spyro trilogy release on current-gen consoles, we’ve seen remakes of Resident Evil Two and Three, a remake of 1997’s Final Fantasy VII, and, recently announced, remakes of the PS1’s first two Tony Hawk Pro Skater games, the first two Mafia games, and according to rumours several older Super Mario games. It doesn’t end there, however, as games from previous console generations have been rereleased as collections with added visual improvements too.
The remakes aren’t just limited to home consoles as companies have been developing and releasing remakes such as Age Of Empires II and Command And Conquer for PC. Meanwhile, smartphone game developers have been releasing older games such as SEGA’s Sonic The Hedgehog for iPhones and Android devices, and casino game developers have been re-releasing classic video slots with updated visuals and gameplay mechanics or they’ve been remaking older slot machines games for online casinos. Having a glimpse at Casinostoplay.com, a leading review website for Internet gambling, you notice that many casino sites boast more than 1000 games with many of them being re-release from the olden days.
As you can see, much of the gaming industry has become overtaken by these re-releases. While many enjoy seeing older games return with updated graphics and gameplay, these many re-releases aren’t a great thing.
The Drawbacks of Re-Releases
The constant slog of re-releases, while fun and exciting, can take development time and resources away from studios who could be developing brand new single-player or multiplayer games. Yes, developers are still working on and releasing new games but since they take several years to create, we’re seeing these new games appear less frequently compared to previous generations.
The pulse-pounding narrative of Resident Evil 3 bookends the events of last year’s award-winning Resident Evil 2. Putting players in the role of S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine, Resident Evil 3 follows her desperate escape from a city torn apart from the inside by zombies and other horrifying creatures. Blocking her path is the seemingly unstoppable and brutally intelligent bioweapon Nemesis – one of the series’ most notorious adversaries. Jill is not alone in her endeavor to escape – players can also experience a slice of the chaos of Raccoon City as unexpected ally Carlos Oliveira, a member of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.) who’s on a mission to evacuate civilians.
Included with the Resident Evil 3 single player campaign is Resident Evil Resistance, an online asymmetrical 4 versus 1 multiplayer game included with Resident Evil 3. A group of four Survivors must strategically work together to escape diabolical experiments conducted by a vicious Mastermind before time runs out. Each of the selectable Survivors relies on available weapons and their unique abilities to help each other as they attempt to escape from the twisted scenario. Behind every corner and hidden in every shadow is the Mastermind, who wields a deck of cards to deploy creatures and bioweapons, set traps, and manipulate the environment to overwhelm the Survivors. Notorious Resident Evil franchise villains, including Alex Wesker, Annette Birkin and Ozwell E. Spencer, all bring their own special style of torment to the Mastermind’s chair. A first for the series, as Masterminds, players can control legendary bioweapons, like the menacing Tyrant and the mutated G-Birkin.
Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil Resistance will cross-over with the addition of Jill Valentine as a playable Survivor in the multiplayer game in an upcoming free update on April 17. More information about upcoming Resident Evil Resistance content will be shared soon.
A Collectors’ Edition for hardcore fans is also available and includes the game, a finely-crafted figure of Jill Valentine, an art book of classified information, a voucher code for a digital soundtrack and a double-sided Raccoon City survival map poster.
Resident Evil fans can get an early taste of the upcoming survival horror game, Resident Evil 3, with an action-packed playable demo that will be available starting this Thursday, March 19 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC players via Steam.
The Resident Evil 3: Raccoon City Demo lets players step into the boots of the legendary heroine Jill Valentine, as she teams up with Carlos Oliveira and the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.) to evacuate civilians from a crumbling Raccoon City. While Jill is fighting to save innocent civilians, she must also save herself from the relentless bioweapon Nemesis, whose sole objective is her demise. The Raccoon City Demo will reveal a brand new cinematic trailer exclusive to demo participants upon completion, and will be available starting March 19 at 00:00 h ET / 04:00 h GMT / 05:00 h CET on Xbox One and 13:00 h ET / 17:00 h GMT / 18:00 h CET on PlayStation 4 and Steam.

In turn, players can band together as one of four of the six Survivors, each possessing a unique ability to help their team escape the experiment before time runs out. The Resident Evil Resistance open beta starts March 27 at 03:00 h ET / 07:00 h GMT / 08:00 h CET for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and 13:00 h ET / 17:00 h GMT / 18:00 CET for Steam.
