Italian game studio LKA.it, UK publisher Wired Productions (@WiredP), and Swedish film-production company Studios Extraordinaires have teamed up for an exclusive partnership to create a feature film adaptation of the video game Martha Is Dead (@MarthaisDead).
Set in the picturesque yet war-ravaged landscape of Tuscany in 1944, “Martha Is Dead” weaves a haunting narrative against the backdrop of World War II. Players step into the shoes of Giulia, a young woman ensnared in a chilling mystery following the death of her twin sister, Martha.
"Every element of 'Martha Is Dead' was created with extraordinary precision and care. The narrative's complexity was meticulously planned, visualized, and even shaped with a cinematic quality in mind," says Luca Dalcò, Founder and Director of LKA, writer and designer of “Martha Is Dead”. “Bringing this to life as a film is a dream come true.”
Celebrated for its breath-taking detail and realism, “Martha Is Dead”, has garnered worldwide critical acclaim for its ability to blend the lines between reality, superstition, and the tragedy of war, into a captivating mystery that keeps players on edge until the very end of the game.
“The game's gripping narrative and unique setting make it a perfect candidate for a film adaptation,” says Leo Zullo, Managing Director, Wired Productions. “We're thrilled to join forces with Studios Extraordinaires to create a landmark cinematic experience, merging the artistry of gaming and filmmaking in an unprecedented way.”

Still Wakes the Deep is a return to the first-person narrative horror genre from The Chinese Room, creator of critically acclaimed games such as Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and Dear Esther.
You are an off-shore oil rig worker, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters. All lines of communication have been severed. All exits are gone. All that remains is to face the unknowable horror that’s come aboard.
Search for your crew and help them survive if you can. Run, climb, and swim through the flooding corridors and storm-lashed outer decks. Face a terrifying, unrelenting foe. And pray that, one day, you get to see your family again.
In An Introduction to Worldbuilding, the developers at The Chinese Room explore the narrative behind Still Wakes the Deep and the research driving development. Lead Environment Artist Iain Gillespie, Associate Art Director Laura Dodds, and Lead Designer Rob McLachlan offer a behind-the-scenes look into this highly anticipated title.
