Resident Evil: Revelations Coming To PS3, Xbox 360Date: Monday, November 26 @ 01:51:31 UTC According to recently leaked information from the Korean Ratings Board, Capcom is hard at work adapting their popular Resident Evil: Revelations (known as Biohazard: Revelations overseas) 3DS game to what would presumably be a fully-HD or otherwise visually-enhanced version for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.  The folks at CVG were one of the first to spot the entry, and believe there is some chance that the re-release could be planned as a digital download for Playstation Network and Xbox Live users. Resident Evil: Revelations made its debut on the Nintendo 3DS portable gaming device earlier this year, and was praised by many critics and longtime fans of the series alike. With a plot centered around Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, both now working for the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA), Resident Evil: Revelations lets gamers in on the events that took place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. While the leak from the Korean Ratings Board certainly increases the odds that the Resident Evil: Revelations Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 ports will likely be headed stateside, localization is far from a guarantee. In fact, a number of Resident Evil games have never seen official releases in the United States Unlike Resident Evil 6, the relatively poorly-received 2012 entry in the series which told its narrative through the use of four distinct co-op campaigns, many loved Resident Evil: Revelations because the game features many of the same over-the-shoulder shooter mechanics first introduced in Resident Evil 4. While still a stark departure from the series' move-then-shoot roots, Resident Evil: Revelations still feels much more like a survival horror title than a full on action game. |
