EA announces next Battlefield game is free on PCDate: Saturday, November 06 @ 10:50:46 UTC Earlier this week EA announced that their next Battlefield game will be for free as a part of their Play4free line of games. Its US vs Russia in 32 player games on this upcoming PC title.  Much like the game; Battlefield Heroes, it will cost nothing at all to download and play. However, nothing has been said in terms of future content, hinting at micro-transactions for new maps and weapons. At launch it will be a combination of elements from past games like maps from Bad Company 2 with weapons from Battlefield 2. The game will be launching at an undisclosed date somewhere in the 2nd quarter of 2011. The closed beta sign up is here.
