Word on the street is that some smart people of this board combined their forces, formed an underground team and are very, VERY close to getting the first 360 backup booting...MS did a very good job on the 360 itself this time. However, they made a big mistake by forgetting about the firmware. :) They even didn't remove the debug routines from the FW, quite amazing ... :) The 360 has a little bit more advanced protection in its FW than the original xbox, but still, they did some stupid things (like forgetting about the debug routines, that were very helpful to us, hehe, and most importantly: not signing the firmware). I'm betting they'll develop the MPU in the drive from scratch for their next gen consoles and sign the code in the FW. :)
At this point I couldn't say for any certainty that the March Update is having any real adverse affects on anyones consoles. However, some people on the Xbox.com forums are having alot of grief after updating to the March Patch.
I've personally updated.. many of my units, and all my friends have too. (with no adverse affects) However, that's not to say that the update isn't bugged in some fashion. (Each update has caused people an equal amount of grief so far..)
Chromehounds (xbox 360 game info) brings intense multiplayer HOUND combat to the Xbox 360 for the first time ever. In this massive global conflict, three nations with opposing political views have erupted in an all-out war. From the culprit of a giant metal "HOUND", you must power your tower of heavy artillery through giant war zones while backing five others on your squad and dodging the firepower of six other live players via Xbox Live. One team member will be elected Tactics Commander and lead the team through the fray via voice commands. You are responsible for arming and customizing your massive mechanized weapon, but overload it and you won't get very far. Your teams' successful completion of missions will open up valuable new items that will bring you all that much closer to victory. Chromehounds also offers numerous single-player missions, plus training modes for team combat and HOUND control familiarization.
Maker of the video game industry's most controversial game swerves in another direction.
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) – The company behind "Grand Theft Auto," arguably the most controversial video game franchise on the market, is working on a new game for Microsoft's Xbox 360 – table tennis.
I'll pause here so you can verify that it's not April 1st.
Yep, Rockstar Studios' San Diego offices, which were responsible for two "Midnight Club" titles and last year's "Red Dead Revolver," have secretly been working on a next generation Ping Pong game.
The game will be exclusive to Microsoft's (Research) next generation console and, judging by screenshots (admittedly a poor way to determine a game's final visual qualities) will take advantage of the system's powerhouse graphics capabilities. Due May 22, "Table Tennis" will carry at $39.99 price tag.
Looks like a new product coming to the market that will allow you to link your pc to your xbox 360 hdd via a adapter so you can access the xbox 360 hdd data from your pc.. mmm.. Yummo.

Working Like a Charm/ Design Finished posted by Johnnytk36 on 03-02-2006
I was testing the new version of Xplorer last night aviable at 360Gamesaves and I used my new adapter. It made it really easy to add some content to the drive and then just snap the drive back in the 360 without having to put the HD back in its case. I did this about 30 times last night.
Also I have made my little tweaks from the last prototype and the final design is finished. I should order them today or tommrow. I will post news of when I order them.
New Prototypes:
I GOT THEM IN.
The new prototypes came in today. Only a few minor changes will occur from these to the final versions. Early next week is when I am shooting for to start selling these adapters.
Don't worry, the final versions will have a silkscreen coating on them to protect the traces and give directions.
I have been using this prototype all night long and it has preformed great.
The infamous viral marketing campaign has resurfaced. However, it's doubtful that this new site will reveal any information pertaining to Halo 3 or for that matter, any upcoming Bungie title. "ilovebees2" features a black screen with lines of random letters, numbers, and symbols. There's also a timer that is counting down to the end of March—or, the beginning of April (also known as April Fool's Day)—and a 12-second audio loop that sorta sounds like a subway train. Most striking is an image that's partially carved out of by the lines of gibberish. IGN draws an interesting comparison between this image and one used to publicize Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. In addition, the ilovebees2 link has been tagged with the word "nonexistence" (a synonym for "oblivion").
