This release has not been tested yet, but as the original Xbox DVD firmware mod released by the same person (Commodore4Eva) was working, chances are high this one will work too.
The modified DVD firmware has been released for the Toshiba-Samsung H943 Xbox 360 DVD drive (it will ONLY work on that drive - the Hitachi-LG drives will need their own modified firmware). Just like Commodore4Eva's modified Xbox1 FW, it will need raw dumps, some patching (security sector on ISO and DVD drive key on firmware) and DVD+DL recordable discs to work.
Release comes with tools to make this all as easy as possible. Also included is a 2nd firmware that will allow you to extract the security sector (what you have to patch on the raw ISO) from an original discs with your TS-H943 drive connected to a PC.
Here it is, the long awaited World first Xbox 360 backup firmware modification to boot all game backups!
Features:
- Boots all Xtreme Xbox 360 backups
- Boots all Xtreme Xbox 1 backups
- Boots all Xbox 360 originals
- Boots all Xbox 1 originals on Xbox 360
- Xtreme0800 extraction firmware enables drive to function natively under Windows without any hardware conversion/adaptors
- Use on Xbox Live at own risk
Technical details:
- Reads Xbox 360 security sector from PSN 04FB1F (Layer 0)
- Reads Xbox 1 security sector from PSN 605FF (Layer 0)
- Security sector must be extrated using Xtreme0800 360 firmware for Xbox360 games and Xbox 1 games
- Will not boot Xbox 1 backups made with Xbox1 605b 0800 firmware (maybe in future release)
Flashing your drive:
Advisable to make a backup of your dvd drive firmware first ("mtkflash r /m orig.bin"). Please make sure you hexedit the Xtreme.bin firmware (not Xtrm0800.bin firmware) to include your dvd drive key from your original firmware (usually at $4000-4200).
Plug SATA cable from DVD drive to PC. Power cable drive still connected to Xbox 360 Power on
Xbox 360 Power on PC Boot with standard dos boot disk with included mtkflash utility.
Run "mtkflash w /m firmwarename.bin" with relevant firmware file (Xtreme.bin for running backups or Xtrm0800.bin for security sector extraction)
Extracting Security Sector:
Ensure DVD drive has been flashed with Xtrm0800.bin firmware. Drive can now work under Windows.
Insert original game disk into drive and wait for windows to detect disk change.
Run DVDinfoPro.
Enter the following four custom cdb commands:
AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 01 C0
AD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 03 C0
14 May 2006 (Sun) I know, its the weekends and perhaps a great time for everyone to relax after a long and heaving week at E3. However, work is only beginning for us here at Xtreme Enterprise and we're not about to let up on giving all we got to our beloved customers. If you will make it a point to visit our site for Xbox360 news items that cannot be found elsewhere in the internet, you will soon discover that this is also the only place where you will be also be able to purchase the coolest items on the planet! We kid you not when we say we're the authority on street mods for the Xbox360.
So here is the Plata Mid (Chrome) preview release. Notice that every external part of the case that is visible to the naked eye has been chromed to give it the ultimate effect. Don't forget that it will also add quite a few grams to the overall weight of the controller, but it only serves to make the feel of the controller rock solid. The chrome is REAL SOLID METAL CHROME that is cold to the touch! Not some cheap spray chrome paint that will peel off after some time of use. This is indeed the real deal and thus, is going to last you the whole lifespan of your game console and beyond. Such is the solid built of this mean beast!
We have no firm dates at the moment for the full release of the Plata Mid. However, our chrome faceplates are already being sold in some websites (including ours). If you have already got one in your hands, you will understand the kind of superb quality we are known for. Click on the picture above for a larger resolution picture. And keep your eyes peeled on our blogosphere.
UbisoftEA's boutique Montreal production house today announced their new title, Army Of One, to be released in 2007 for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Wii will have wait, it appears.
EA's Reid Schneider had a mouthful to say about the upcoming title:
"This is the game we've always wanted to create. Until now, the hardware would not allow us to deliver truly intelligent AI characters. We've built this game with co-operative TWO man gameplay as the centerpiece of the experience. Whether you're playing with PAI or a friend, it's about the TWO man missions, TWO man strategies and the TWO man advantage that really sets this game apart."
I don't know why, but I get the feeling that there's an emphasis on TWO player participation in this one. Even if one of the two is an AI character, that is. Maybe they can resuscitate Haley Joel Osment from the A.I. movie; he seems like he'd be a fun guy to game with, as long as one doesn't get on his bad side.
I can't wait to tell my freakin' shrink!
UbisoftOnce The Godfather became a hit, it seemed inevitable that The Sopranos would be next to rise to power in the video game family. THQ announced today that the Tony and the gang from HBO will be coming to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 2 this holiday season. The game is backed by key members of the all-star cast who will lend their voices and likenesses, including James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano.
I suspect the voice of Lillo Brancato will be not be making an appearance.
The storyline:
A mob war is brewing as Philadelphia's and New Jersey's most powerful families are about to collide. As the illegitimate son of "Big P*ssy," you have been born into the organization and are now being given an opportunity to demonstrate your loyalty to Tony Soprano. As a soldier you must earn money on collections, protect your turf through intimidation, and gain admiration within your own family to move up in the ranks of the organization. Carry out orders from Paulie, Silvio, Christopher and Tony in familiar locations such as the Bada Bing!, Nuovo Vesuvio's and Satriale's. Storyline collaborated with show creator David Chase and voiced by the show's key cast members.
So this holiday season I suspect I'll leave the gun, take the cannoli, and pick this baby up opening day.
The latest ambitious endeavor by Microsoft might have "monopoly" written all over it, but we have a feeling they wouldn't want it any other way. Microsoft's new Live Anywhere that they announced at today's E3 keynote takes their Xbox Live concept and extends it to the PC, Windows Mobile and even Java-enabled phones. Whether you're at your PC or rocking a mobile, you'll be able to track your gamer tag, message friends, purchase content for that device or set it to download to another device, and of course compare rankings with your buddies on various gaming titles.
Halo isn't going to run so well on your RAZR, so for actual cross platform titles, Microsoft is sticking with XBLA-esque games that can translate easily to different platform, such as Bejeweled. There will, however, be major games that can be played on your Vista PC and Xbox 360. Microsoft is banking heavily on third party support for Live Anywhere, in the form of mobile friendly value-adds for 360 games, and just straight up phone-friendly casual titles. In order to get more support, they're claiming to approach this from a "platform agnostic" (hah!) angle, and after supporting the 360, Windows Vista and Windows Mobile, will move on to Java, S60 and possibly even Palm if they deem it worth their while. Microsoft obviously has the muscle to launch a service like this, and the features they demoed look quite entertaining and welcome, but we'll still be (pleasantly) surprised if they actually manage to pull it off. Keep on reading for screenshots and impressions.
