With a small delay we are now happy to announce the release of the NME-360 v1.1 Chip as of today. A few resellers have their chips already, others are getting them in within the next 2 days. We are just setting up the new installation diagrams which are going to be online tomorrow. Please note: The NME-360 v1.1 chips are still two different chips for samsung and hitachi. This time we marked the Hitachi Chips with a white stripe. The Samsung Chips are unmarked. Furthermore we'll shoot a small video showing the cool activity LED feature at work. Even though the installation and burning process are now much easier with the NME-360 v1.1 and our aSSociat0r tool, we will set up a support-forum for those who still have problems. That way we can keep email-support lower which gives us more time for realizing out future plans ;-) Anyway, with the new NME-360 v1.1 Chip life got so much easier for everybody and especially for those who bought a Pioneer 111D burner when all that progress started.
We're sure you already have late September marked up on your gaming event/trade show calendar for the Tokyo Game Show. Well make some room for Microsoft!
The Xbox 360 will get some time to call its own just prior to the start of the show. Microsoft will gather members of the press in the early afternoon on Wednesday 9/20 at a hotel in Tokyo to deliver its Xbox 360 message prior to TGS's official opening on Friday, 9/22.
This news shouldn't come as a surprise, as Microsoft always holds a pre-TGS briefing for the media. Last year, the company summoned the press on the Thursday before the start of the show. This year, the press conference is being held on the Wednesday prior to the start of the show.

A small, plain box arrived unexpectedly from Redmond over the weekend containing nothing more than the diminutive Xbox Live Vision camera floating in a sea of amniotic packing paper. No retail box here, just the tiny little camera and its accompanying PR fact sheet ("Microsoft Corp.'s line of Xbox 360™ Authentic Products continues to grow while ..."). The sheet does detail the two bundles that will be released on September 19th, clipped after the break.
We hurriedly grabbed some snaps before hooking up the Vision to the ol' 360 and taking it for a spin around the UNO block ... where IT happened. We've grown (abnormally) accustomed to the sort of blue language one finds while playing outside of the confines of your Xbox Live friends list -- this is of course, entirely different than the blue language you enjoy while playing with your friends, but we digress -- but it wasn't ten minutes before we had our first PG-13 exposure. Read on for the entire, sordid tale (with NSFW pictures!).
The camera can be tilted forwards and backwards and spin a little to the left and right. Of course, this makes it look like a head, giving it an anthropomorphism that immediately endears it to me. This thing totally has to be in the Xbox 360's Transformers cameo.
The 360 Autobot with head attached. Tell me it doesn't look sentient.
It automagically drops in a ghostly video background as soon as you boot it up. No drivers, restarts, or IRQ settings (do they still have those?).
It's taken a while but the X360 USB is now finished and ready. We also completed CE certification and RoHS testing and are preparing to ship to resellers as soon as possible.
Pre-Order X360 USB with free Connectivity Kit v2:

Schtrom released a new version of Schtrom360Xtract, a tool that will allow you to easily dump Xbox/Xbox360 gamedata, extract/patch the Security Sectors and fully prepare the image for burning in 1 step. This new version comes with support to create stealth media discs (xtreme v3.0+):
What's new/fixed (since v2.0):
* now extracts video.iso, pfi.bin and dmi.bin for xtreme 3.0 style images
* also tested with xtreme V3.2
* single extraction of video.iso, pfi.bin, dmi.bin, ss.bin and game.iso supported
* the extraction can be done from original discs, copied discs and image files
* two whole disc extraction methods:
-xtreme 3.0 style (video.iso, pfi.bin, dmi.bin)
-xtreme 2.0 style (blank.iso, no pfi.bin, no dmi.bin)
* injection of video.iso, pfi.bin, dmi.bin, ss.bin and game.iso to an image
* automatic detection of Xbox1 or Xbox360 game discs depending on the size
* stealth checks added for Xbox1 and Xbox360 copied discs and images by acidflash
* DVD-ROM support for USB SH-D162C by acidflash
* It seems to be the best to use blocks of 16 sectors when reading the discs, especially for error corrections on Xbox1 discs this works best
Those wondering if EA's behemoth could remove Halo 2 as the all time top game, you can quit worrying now as Halo 2 is still the most played game on Xbox Live. Texas Hold'em is not only the top XBLA game, but as you can see it also placed on the top 10 Overall Xbox 360 titles.
