I came across the latest project that ZooZen is working on. Its a total replacement case for your 360. It has the lines of something mac would put out. Whereas I'm not to keen on mac products, but this case has something that grabs my attention. There is little known about the case at all, besides its a replacement case.
I'm trying to contact ZooZen for further details, and possibly pictures. So hopefully I'll be able to update all you readers on more specifications on this case, and hopefully pictures. Stay tuned.
According to a post on Bethesda production director Ashley Cheng's blog, a patch to fix the "formID" bug in the Oblivion expansion Shivering Isles will be available for download on the Xbox 360 Monday, April 30. The patch has been available for PC since April 12, as well as some fan-created solutions prior to that.
There's a chance the patch will not make its purported Monday deadline, but the good news still is that there is a patch and it is complete and coming very soon. The critical bug would essentially appear late in the game and cause items to disappear.
Cheng, whose current project is Fallout 3, has also posted a handful of YouTube videos featuring the various introductions from the Fallout series. Maybe they're considering a similar opening for their version? Time will tell.

Have you ever wanted to play Halo 2 again but this time gain some points for your gamercard???
Well, soon all Windows Vista users will all be able to.. Major Nelson is reporting that he has trialed a gold copy of Halo 2 for Windows Vista yesterday (it goes on sale in a few weeks) and after installing it Major did a few things that, while geeky, are worth mentioning.
Some are downright cool:
- After installing H2 for Vista, I was able to sign in to Xbox LIVE from the ‘Guide’ within the game, and see all of my LIVE friends, messages etc. (above and here)
- I hooked up my Xbox 360 Wireless Controller and my Wireless headset to my PC via the Wireless Gaming Receiver.
- I was able to send and receive text and voice messages from the guide to other LIVE members who were on their Xbox 360’s. You press the Guide button on your controller and the guide pops up over the game – just like on the Xbox 360.
- Got my first Halo 2 Achievement (and added another 30 points to my GS)
- While I was playing through the first level of the campaign, I was on a voice chat over my wireless headset with Litheon who was playing Gears of War on his Xbox 360.
There was a LOT of technology going on here but it was a fairly seamless experience. Once you get your hands on Halo 2 for Vista, you’ll see what I mean. It will get even better when Shadowrun ships later this year and PC players and Xbox 360 players can not only communicate over LIVE but also compete against each other. With the the new LIVE connectivity with PC games this is the start of a new era of gaming for Games for Windows and Xbox 360 owners.
Major Nelson has also been so nice to supply some screen shots that show the guide as well as receiving a message over Live.
This week I have had the fortune of having an XcmAir Cooler, and the Addon Fan come across my work table. A big thanks goes out to Xcm for supplying the product for review. I know there have been some questions raised in the forums, and other places on the web pertaining to the heat build up that seems to plague the Xbox 360.
With llamma getting their hands on a Xbox 360 Elite, and reporting their finds, it seems that the heat issue may still be of great concern. Microsoft seems to have only added some highly dubious updates to the Cpu and Gpu to try and avoid the dreaded 3 red lights. They put a dabbing of epoxy on the Cpu and Gpu in attempts to keep the bga connections from popping once the board warps under heat. As llamma has stated “will it work we have our doubts” which I couldn't have said any better myself.
There also seems to be the likely chance that Microsoft has rolled out the 65nm chips for the elite. This is unconfirmed, but looks highly plausible, due to the decrease in capacitors surrounding the board. Which points to lower power consumption. With lower power consumption comes less items on the motherboard to produce heat. I haven't had the chance to get my hands on an Elite to do some temperature comparisons, as well as seeing how much power consumption has decreased. Lets hope someone that obtains an Elite will do so, and I can post the results and finally confirm or deny this.
Now you may be asking, why am I reading all this background information if your just reviewing an aftermarket cooling solution? Well the reason being is you have invested some hard earned cash in your 360, and like me probably want to take as best care as possible of it. Now I wanted to let you all know of the heat issues, and show that there is a great need to purchase some type of aftermarket cooling, to prolong the life of your investment. I have had no problems to date with my 360, but after installing this, I have great piece of mind, and its great to have control over how hot your system gets. You have to remember that this system rivals some gaming computers out there at the moment, and does so in a much smaller form factor as gaming computers.
So if your like me and worry about your investment read on and see what findings I have had with and without the XcmAir Cooler, and Addon Fan.
