What Movie terrified you as a kid? Published on 03-26-2009
" Back in 1984 I was 9 years old. I lived with my dad up in alaska, He worked late nights so I was home alone. Cable had just came out up there and we got HBO.
Back then we were not exposed to as much as kids now so some thing like Nightmare on Elm street was pretty hard core!
Any way I would be in the living room at night and turn to HBO to watch Nightmare on Elm Street. I could only watch a little before getting really freaked out and having to turn the channel to something more pleasant like the Disney channel lol. It probably took me 5 different viewings over a couple weeks to work up the nerve to watch it all the way through.
I would go to my friends house down the street at night, we lived in a wooded area, I would ride my bike in the middle of the road because the thought of Freddy in the brush freaked me out, especially the scene where he could stretch his arms way out, I figured he had a long reach lol. I watch it now and dont see what I was so freaked out about.
My first drive in movie I went to with the folks was An American Werewolf in London, Us kids hung out in the playground there in the middle of the drive in but we could still watch the movie, Did not scare me but the changing in to a werewolf sceen I can still remember it. That was state of the art effects back then.
My mother told me that when she was pregnant with me she went to see the Exorcist when it came out, she could not be alone in a house for a few months after that lol, she said people were getting sick in the theater. "

| There is a japanese horror/thriller I have been wanting to watch but have not found it on tv or the video store yet, Its called "THE AUDITION" about a cute girl that goes to an audition for a movie I think, gets the director back to here house and does what she does to me, drug them, then tortures them, saw style, cutting body parts off while they are concious. Sounds very creepy and mind damaging but have heard it is a must see.
