Uno! I win!!! Published on 05-10-2006
" Well yeah, I just got finished playing Uno, I played from roughly 10pm to 3am, just about a 5h marathon, only 1 time go up from the game, that was after much squirming to finish the match I was in. This game helped me hit my 6000 mark for gamerscore just perfectly. I have 3 more achievements to do to finish off the game. The people in the multiplayer is what makes the experience great, you drop a draw 2 card on them, and they let out some explicit words of disgust, then they come back with a reverse and a draw 4 wild card, it's great fun. I love to play with progressive penalties so that if I get a draw 2 dropped on me, I can drop one and the next guy will have to draw 4, unless of course he has a draw 2 also, then it goes on around, the first person to either accept the penalty or not have a draw 2 card gets the amount of cards that the current penalty is at, I've witnessed it go as high as 5 people which meant 10 cards, this is a devastating way to turn the tide of a match, but it can just as easily backfire if you don't have but 1 draw 2 card. This works with draw 4 wild cards also, so becareful with them when throwing them down to slap the opponent in the face.
A new thing in this version which I've never played is called bluffing, as it seems you aren't supposed to play a draw 4 wild unless you don't have the color that is on the board, if you have a card of the color on the board and you play a draw 4 wild card, the person who is next in line (the person who ges the 4 cards) has a chance to challenge the play, this means if you did bluff you get 6 cards, however if you didn't have that color and they challenged you, they get the 6 cards, this is a great way to hinder people trying to make you draw 4 just before going out. Normally they don't think and will automatically choose the draw 4 wild card and you can just bounce it back into their face, however as with most things, the pay-off isn't worth the risk.
Also you can tell when they are getting cards dealt by the computer or if they are manually taking cards from the deck, therefore if they get a draw 4 wild on the auto don't challenge, as the reason for the auto draw is not having that color in the first place, you can see that a person is taking more time in between cards, and if he used a draw 4 wild you can easily challenge him and normally win.
